Well.. got hold of an unlocked Ph1 ECU from Wilky, and after some messing around. This happened.

It's been nearly 8 months!
Flickering? Check the green sensor on the front of the engine block, just below the inlet. Give it a wiggle/make sure it's secure. Had the same problem on both 172s before, they sensor can loosen when you go over a bump.
Unbelievable isn't it.
Jord came down today to see if we could get it started, no luck again today after trying a couple of different things. So, probably going to have to try a different loom as there could be a random wire that's been messed with that we can't see until we take the whole...
Also, got my hands on a new set of inlet manifold bolts as I've lost a couple and have a new RS lower inlet to fit. Typical Renault though, each bolt is in a separate bag.. gave me a laugh.
Wiring was attacked today, many laughs were had. Thought it would just be maybe 2 or 3 wires and a control box... oh no. This is what was ripped out.
Took (Jord) ages.. it was spliced into all sorts. Amazing just how many random wires and boxes there were. We managed to get the car cranking...

My airbag light is on due thanks to that dodgy connection under the passenger seat. So will it definitely still pass if that is the only issue?
Well it's not a big deal, until I find the connector on the loom. If that is different then not sure what to do. I have a feeling it's been swapped at same time the ignition barrel in a previous life. As the original barrel doesn't match the doors. It could be off another renault, or even a...
Was chatting to jord about it and he believes the new one (off your old car) is a ph2 ring. May have shared parts with ph2. Apprenently though I can just use the original ring as only the key, Multi Timer an ECU are matching sets.
Looking at some pictures of ph2 key sets for sale, the top one...
Odd one..
In the process of replacing the locks and ignition to get rid of a crappy aftermarket alarm that was fitted to the car, plus the original ignition barrel and the locks on the doors/boot don't match..
Anyway.. got round to churning the ignition barrel and noticed something that...
