'Oil' and 'Stop' light coming on

Flickering? Check the green sensor on the front of the engine block, just below the inlet. Give it a wiggle/make sure it's secure. Had the same problem on both 172s before, they sensor can loosen when you go over a bump.

    New wheels advice

They are a very nice alternative to F1s. Not sure on the colours though on an inferno.

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Tried the key, doesn't work.. changing the locks over anyway, as I bought ECU, UCH, ignition and locks off bomber as a full matching set.

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Possibility, yet some of the relays in the engine bay didn't sounds like they were doing anything... so will give a new loom a go first.

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Unbelievable isn't it. Jord came down today to see if we could get it started, no luck again today after trying a couple of different things. So, probably going to have to try a different loom as there could be a random wire that's been messed with that we can't see until we take the whole...

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Also, got my hands on a new set of inlet manifold bolts as I've lost a couple and have a new RS lower inlet to fit. Typical Renault though, each bolt is in a separate bag.. gave me a laugh.

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Wiring was attacked today, many laughs were had. Thought it would just be maybe 2 or 3 wires and a control box... oh no. This is what was ripped out. Took (Jord) ages.. it was spliced into all sorts. Amazing just how many random wires and boxes there were. We managed to get the car cranking...

    Bren's Sunflower 172 - Engine Rebuild

Well a little job done when I got home today wanted to see how the new spacers looked. The front track looked insane due to being so low. originally looked like this.. Spacers fitted (camber not adjusted yet so a more negative on the N/S)

So who's passed an MOT with no airbags then?

ah great, MOT is due and was wondering about this. I thought the new rules had come in. My airbag light is on due thanks to that dodgy connection under the passenger seat. So will it definitely still pass if that is the only issue?

    Anyone know this cup?

Personally I wouldn't go for a cup if I was using on the road, but a lot of other people get on OK. for occasional track use I suppose it makes sense.

    Anyone know this cup?

    Purely for track duty?

    Ignition Barrel (Ph1) differences?

Well it's not a big deal, until I find the connector on the loom. If that is different then not sure what to do. I have a feeling it's been swapped at same time the ignition barrel in a previous life. As the original barrel doesn't match the doors. It could be off another renault, or even a...

    Ignition Barrel (Ph1) differences?

Was chatting to jord about it and he believes the new one (off your old car) is a ph2 ring. May have shared parts with ph2. Apprenently though I can just use the original ring as only the key, Multi Timer an ECU are matching sets. Looking at some pictures of ph2 key sets for sale, the top one...

    Ignition Barrel (Ph1) differences?

Odd one.. In the process of replacing the locks and ignition to get rid of a crappy aftermarket alarm that was fitted to the car, plus the original ignition barrel and the locks on the doors/boot don't match.. Anyway.. got round to churning the ignition barrel and noticed something that...
