No instructions, next to feck all on their own site bar "minimal bedding in needed" etc...
Sooooooo is the mintex/PFB method ok or is there a different way for the sintered pads?
I'm not using one as I'm doing a redesign on the megasquirt with new software etc and REAL CAN not the canopen trash thats currently in there etc, But I have looked at the microsquirt on behalf of a friend and I would happily recommend it over an MJ/normal MS :)
I meant in terms of just buying a microsquirt instead.... more functionality for about £20-30 more of brand new kit :) plus if you fancy coming into the 90's you can go for fuel injection for the cost of the bodies and injectors rather than having to start again :)
I dont like MJ because it uses the Ford Edith (yes a t lol) system which just adds cost and complexity (that you cant control).... would be better off with a microsquirt and direct wasted spark control :)
We did use the webers all the time for 6 years and they never drifted, no 'special'...
MS isnt that bad.... if you redesign the circuitry as its mostly wrong lol, and give the software a little tweak to make it more OEM than homebrew first principles with fudges. BUT for someone who just wants to fit and calibrate, or take to someone to calibrate, get the one that has the 'best'...
Re: Prima racing uprated exhaurst mount
No the bracket was free from the backbox BEFORE I fitted the prima mounts lol
Now have a sodding great jubilee clip holding the box to the bracket :)
If the french are any 'good' at good engineering process, they would have broken the engines in at the plant (engine plant not car plant) and then dropped the oil to then do the production fill.
Hell the current Ford 'first service' is to check the oil level and top up if needed lol, no...
The engine will have been run in/bedded in/driven in at the factory to limit warranty issues..... so imho its just the brakes you 'NEED' to bed in and just treat it like a normal car.
Also in my experience, gentle engine running in leads to heavy oil consumption and shorter lifespan etc. The...
does it have a casio watch 'climate' control inside, or does it have some knobs for the fans?
Does it have manky boggo spec front seats or does it have half leather trim seats?
Does it have HID's and headlight washers or not?
That will pretty much cover if its a FF or diet clio.
Do they actually do work claimed etc?
Having not found 'bad' comments, I can only assume they cant be that terrible given the internets is a great place to find negative feedback :)
Ofcourse phoning them up to ask "Are you any good?" is a pointless thing to do, even by sarcy admin standards :p
I know its a bit late since I got the car in Dec but hey.
The service book is stamped up with AshbyClio stamps for nearly all its service/belts etc, but the website seems to have gone and there is no real feedback when searching on here.
Do they still exist, and would they have records of...
Re: Prima racing uprated exhaurst mount
I've fitted a pair to my 182, they do the job a treat, just the broken backbox bracket thats the problem now lol
Do you get an EML come on with a decat on the 1*2's ?
do you need something like this www.O2simulator.com ?
I have tried searching but nothing is ever mentioned about the issue/non issue.
What is the OBDII protocol to talk to the 182/172?
I have a VI unit (I know they 'dont work', but I have a plan ;) ) which can do the main comms. It gets some data out but stops the dash from working and sets a few warning lights on lol.
I want to know what the comms protocol is so that I...
I looked at getting a light set plate diff, but the stupid install process for the Clio put me right off... I can fit any diff to a Nova in about an hour and be back on the road lol The clio one looked to be far too much faff
Depends a little on where you buy fuel too.... £1.329 at home but have seen 1.389 etc for petrol :p
A full tank will nearly see me 400 miles (when I say full tank I mean about 40Litres) of mildly keen/long run cruise driving. Nailing its tits off a 30-32mpg figure is realistic.
I will be...
5.1 is runnier so 'technically' better for use with ABS systems etc.. I never had any issues with it in my plastic skip and when I come to drop the fluid from the gayblue clio it too will get 5.1 put back in.
You can do it that way... I like to be sure its changed properly though so when I dropped the ATE stuff out I ran 3Litres through and it was still streaking blue :( so just made do with that as I was getting bored at that point.
More blue would make life sort of easier but you cant be 100% sure...
I ran ATE superblue and if you dont get it out within 12 months (and change to the Amber one) it WILL stain your lines and it will be a git to bleed through other colours later.
I moved to Mintex OEM 5.1 and its taken a beating really well, and as a bonus its about £3 per litre lol.
