With VW bringing out the 240bhp golf, renault would be silly not to put a suped up Meganne Turbo engine into a clio and make it a Clio240. 182 is a waste of time.

Renault are loosing out in the hot hatch stakes. Going from 172 to 182 is a waste of time. Surely they will be bringing out a Clio 240, with the Meganne turbo engine?

Sounds like your answer tomtom. phone around some scrappies, and see if you can find an old engine & ECU from a Mk1, phase 3 (with the extra brake light under the rear wiper).

I know it is possible to change SPI rover K-series engines to MPI with a few of the MPI components (& ECU). Takes the 1.4 from 75bhp to 104bhp. I dont know about the 1.4 clio energy engine though. Sorry.

You guys getting SPI and carb mixed up? Carb mixes a single intake of air to a single "evaporating pool" of petrol. SPI does the same thing, but has a more efficient injector rather than evaporation pool. Looks pretty much the same from the top. Your RT has SPI.
