Mi16 ROCKS! turboing it is a lamme way of getting power. Get it on TBs and sort it to go over 220bhp (which is not difficult in this engine).
Mi16 on a pug205 is a MUST. Sorry 172 owners but youre not going to get anywhere near this one.
Dont know what kind of inlet system the clio maxi has got but if it uses the std inlet manifold and plenum, then the vent is above the air filter/battery. this way there will be a flow of fresh air (even thou it might not be that fresh) passing throught.
This seems to be an exhaust vent. Thinking about the use of them in some Fords (ERST, FRST, escort cossie, etc).
The ones that are used as inlet are more like scoobies, pulsar etc ones.
Its better to weld the damn thing since if you get a new colum from renault it will suffer from the same problem latter someday. Besides, its cheaper this way :)
btw, its not that simple the procedure since the rubber its so hard to get it into the right place.
Here it is mine MIG welded...
you are choosing between two piggyback (unichip and SMT6) and a stand alone EMS (DTA).
If you can afford, go with DTA since it can on a latter mod go with TBs and std ecu with a piggy back wired to it wont go very far.
If you into a stand alone EMS take a look also at Omex and Emerald since...
Are all 16v gearbox the same?
Clio 16v ph1, Clio 16v ph2, R19 16v ph1 and ph2 all the same?
I know that valver gearbox is JB3 xx... what are the xx numbers?
Thanks
Yes, but I dont like the idea of having to go even lower with the hand to change gear. I dont drag racing! Im more into trackdays and circuit speedway enjoyment. :)
I also own a FRST and on it I even welded a longer stainless steel "stick" so the knob would be higher. This made shifting...
Well.... Ive tried to mod my std "gear lever stick" and its not that easy.
ok, Ive draw something for better understanding. :P

Here we go.
The height " h " is the gear stick inside the car.
The height " h " is th gear...
btw, does anyone knows the diameter of the shaft that comes in the laguna 1.8 TB? Need to check something. It seems that some R19 also had the same engine with the same SPI..... if this is true, then its easier for everyone to find the so desiered TB. :)
and, was the laguna 1.8 1794cc? Thats...
Once this was posted here at cliosport.net forum.
I got that and quote:
"I can only offer the original paint code ( as applied by Speedline ), unfortunately not an RAL or Pantone. This was Akzo 7E 81208. Please be very very careful though. Gold is notoriously difficult to exactly get the...
LOL Now I get it! I thought you were saying I was picking on you...
This cam is from a Renault Espace... diesel engine. Yesterday helped out at the workshop and striped the head for inspection. The pictures says it all.
I think RICHARD BARCLAYs clio is 1.4 8v MPI, so the laguna 1.8 TB wont...
ok.. to get this straight
This ones are carriers right?http://img2.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Perception/pics/4ffe6c99.jpg
And this ones are calipers
http://img2.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Perception/pics/dfd43aec.jpg
btw, this are NOT valver calipers... they are escort cossie.
Dont...
Its always the same basic principles to tune an engine. Go for the basic stuff: good exhaust (see if std exhaust manifold is any good, if not dump it and get a tubular one), air filter (that ramcharger from ktec seems to be the best solution for the 1.6 16v and 1.4 16v renault engines).
Next...
You need a complet set of valver calipers. I think jay refers to the "pad carrier" as the part of the caliper that bolts to the hub. Since it can be taken off some ppl say its a diferent part.
I didnt need new bolts. Cant remember if I used the valver ones or the RT ones, but when you are at...
it can be mate!
there are for good price some old used helicopter jet engines! Why use them? because they are taken off the helicopters even without any sign of failure. In the floor your engine can fail, but on the air............ no way.
By one and try a similar conversion like the ones...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH its kind of annoying to read the same topics over and over and over again. :(
need valver calipers, valver discs, valver pads, valver bolts. Get them on the RT. Bleed the damn circuit and thats it. No need to change no master cylinder and the fuking padle travels...
yes, but that is comon knowledge (at idle/low rpms oil pressure is too low to the get a good lub on the head). Thats why I recomend once you started a engine (from cold) you should rev it up to 2500rpm and keep it there a few seconds so oil gets quikly to the head.
Valver and willy hit 3bar of...
