I get the same after having the 172 for a while I've gotten used to it - just feels normal. What you've got to do is pull away "normally" for you (but not really quickly) from some traffic lights and then notice that everyone else is still miles behind even when you weren't really trying ;)
Nice ;)
Personally I just shut the lid and forget about the mess inside - so long as it isn't too messy. Just as long as the picture on the screen is pretty and it's fast :D
They also don't need changing until 72k (apparently).
Personally, I wouldn't touch mine! But I never was great at that kind of thing. I'm sure it can't be that difficult really to do simple stuff like oil changes.
I'd agree with the wash comment after experiencing it first hand. Car was pretty filthy tbh, and they made a real half-assed job of washing it - still had dirty streaks down the doors and things, plus it was all swirly next time I washed it properly:mad:
Thats a pretty minor thing though, I...
Awww. From the title I was hoping for a pic of a chavved up clio with some huge great airplane wing on the back :(
Thats a pretty big chunk missing to "repair easily" as he says. Looks a bit dodgy to me.
I've used Fish Bros (Ren dealer) in Swindon and they seemed ok. Not too pricey either.
Otherwise, before, when I had my 1.2 I used to use Mike Allen services by the train station. They always seemed pretty good. Smaller outfit, but "Renault Specialists". Bizzarely thought they were more...
There is a thread somewhere with all the servicing intervals and what needs to be done for the 172/182. Have a search for that. Found it. It's on sticky in mechanical. Here:

... this is taking the piss surely:
How the heck did he manage to keep up all the way home from work:rasp:
Left a right skanky mark when I pulled it off too - must have been holding on pretty tight.
^ Surely you don't need it in writing that it has been "fixed". (Although that was good thinking - shame he didn't take your advice really) Shouldn't it be somewhere in the records they keep about your car that they've had it in for so and so and it's been fixed?
I noticed this on mine last week for some reason. Never noticed it before. Had to go for a drive with the aircon off to check it out! Got back, no dripping :)
^ yeah I'm not a total fool! :clown: It's still the same size when it's downloaded though.
Ah, right click on the file and do properties. I think there is somewhere where you can click to say "I trust this file". Sure I saw something like that the other day.
Thats odd. I phoned Platinum in Bath when I needed my 36k service and they quoted me about £300 quid I think. They were the cheapest out of them, Fish Bros (Swindon) and Mike Allen (Swindon).
Went to Fish Bros in the end as they did a price match with Platinum.
Labour? What for?
"Heres you new key mate"
"Thanks"
"Thats half an hours labour"
For £140 that should include the key and recoding it (which is probably what the labour is for)
First car about 3.5 years (I think), current car I've had for about 15 months now. I'm planning on keeping it for another year at least, by which time the timing belt will need doing. At that point I'll look at finances and what else is available and decide whether to spend the money having...
