^ yeah, it's like it gets flooded or something I recon.
I find I just have to remember to crank it for longer than usual otherwise it doesn't start and then I feel like a tit who can't even start his car properly !
Depends on my mood and where I'm going. Sometime fast sometimes steady. Always stick to the limit in town, but have been known to put my foot down where conditions allow and its safe to do so. Not too worried about giving it some revs so long as the engine is warm and the road is clear ahead...
I think all 172's are lumpy on idle. Like jacko said, 97+ fuel (I use Optimax) makes it smoother and you get better mpg.
As for the starting I don't know. I've noticed I need to crank mine for longer if it hasn't been stopped for very long - i.e. when I go to fill it up and some days it...
It is a common problem (loads of threads about it on here).
Not sure about the warranty - I'd hope so at only 10000 miles - depends on how much you argue in the dealers I think.
^ whats the camera alerting like on the tomtom ? Does it give you advance warning, your current speed and the speed the camera is set at. I'd always heard that the camera stuff was more of an add-on and so not as good on the tomtom-type gps devices.
^ I've emailed blackspot with a long list of problems - no reply after one month. Just resent it with an additional list of faults today, so I'll give it another few weeks them I'll think again about what to do.
To be honest, I fail to see how it could be a faulty unit as all the problems seem...
So I bought a Road Angel Navigator a couple of months ago, and I've got to say I was a little dissapointed somehow. Nothing in particular, just seemed a bit clumsy. In the last week I've done 700+ miles with the thing up and down the country. It's given me numerous false camera alerts (30mph...
^ same thing happened to me. Heard it blowing on Tues, back box fell off on the way to get it replaced on Thurs :@
That was the std Renault exhaust, and I could hear mine was blowing from the back, but couldn't see where.
I find the brakes on my 172 quite odd. Sometime I don't think I'm going to stop, but I think maybe the trick is to just stamp on them! then it stops pretty sharp-ish.
It comes on about 500rpm before the rev limiter kicks in to remind you to change gear.
Just in case you don't notice the rev counter being all the way round and the screaming sound coming from the engine :clown:
I'm no expert, but could the 30 second wait thing be related to the immobiliser? Maybe it is taking longer to recognise it's you / the right key / however it works. I guess you could trying using your spare key for a while...
Hopefully someone more qualified might have a better idea.
Well, the back box is hanging off now! grr. Stupid design. So I've had to try and tie it back on with some metal wire so I can get it to work and to the garage - hopefully it will hold.
It's going into Renault Minute tomorrow to get a new back section - £160 - not exactly cheap but at least...
yikes! I didn't think the standard exhaust would be quite that much.
I could kind of be tempted with an aftermarket one, but my car is totally standard at the minute and I don't particularly want to affect insurance.
Plus I don't know any places round here that do them - powerflow don't...
So, my Ph2 172 exhaust is blowing somewhere near the back. I can't tell where exactly and it's chucking it down so I'm not going to get soaked trying to find it!
Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to have to pay to have it replaced? parts + labour.
Also, any suggestions where...
I agree. Cars should have a spare wheel. Even RS models. Thankfully my 172 has a full size alloy spare in the boot. I'd certainly think twice about buying a car without a proper spare wheel.
http://gimp.org (no joke!)
Its really for Linux, but runs on Windows too, though I've never tried to run it on Windows so I don't know how easy it is to get going. It is the "Photoshop" for Linux though - pretty good.
^ thats a good one. "sun shining...etc etc". I'll have to remember that one just in case
Maybe someone should have taught her to wait-if-unsure when she was learning to drive.
Hope you feel better soon.
This works for me. Just replace the text with whatever is on your page.
