Hmmm K-tec have just got back to me and FFS it is a ph1 ECU that I have been given!!!! so I am now looking for another ph2 172 ECU, anyone? oh and I have a ph1 ECU spare now hurrah!!
my mate has a 172 exclusive and his old boy has a GTI180 and my mate and his dad both reckon the 172 is quicker.....I myself have test driven a 180 and I didn't think it was as quick either and most definately not as involving.
aye I have, I used to go up there for a blast on the odd weekend when I had my mk1 golf gti never been up that far in the cup though!! must try it. Up west is great too towards gairloch/ullapool etc.
sounds like fun, I know what you mean (ollie) because I live just north of inverness and the roads up here are great and the rozzers are not too hot either.
Once the missus turned 25 I had to get something a little fruitier as the main car having gone down the rover 200/25 route previously for insurance purposes, altho I didn't mind having the rovers as i've always had my old school toys also mk1 xr2/ mk1 golf gti/ and now mk1 fiesta supersport. I...
aye I know about the unlocking side of things but i've sent it off to K-TEC for a group N reflash so that will take care of that TBH I didn't check the part no as it was (alleged) to come off a 172CUP bought from cit-ren breakers, it's just that looking on BBPT website and also another which I...
the reason I ask is that I have bought a spare ecu, supposed to be from a cup and the front (flat side) is black, but all other ph2 ecu's that I have seen pics of are silver!! yet the ph1's that I have seen were black!!! I hope I have not got myself a turkey.
cheers
How much induction roar do vipers give on small to part throttle opening? I wouldn't mind trying one but I would prefer for it to be fairly low key under normal pootling about driving.
cheers.
I bought my cup back in july /august last year, 53 plate and got a full 3year warranty from date of purchase......result. It ony had 7500K on it tho and the previous owner was 72years old lol.
hmm i've never stalled the cup and in all honesty I can't see why so many people have trouble with the RS clio's coming off clutch!! not saying i'm the stig or superior in any way but i've always thought that this was a strange un.........BTW the missus has never stalled it either, wierd!!
I apex'ed my cup about 5 weeks ago and it is still dropping, although it has probably only done around 150 miles in that time!! the tracking is deffo needing looked at now tho whereas just after it was done it felt fine.
