Has anyone with a 172 MK2 had a clutch cable dry up & start grinding? Done a search on here but cant find any threads of any relevance. When I took mine in to my garage they said first one they ever had. It is covered 100% by warranty so thats cool but just wondered. Jaine

When I worked at Land Rover it was whichever came first.....how queer !! Just booked mine but on 23k so cool & he has got problems starting from cold so will be in for 2 days..

Cannot decide what exhaust to get for my MK2 172. I want noise but not tinny sounding I want a single oval I want a power increase or to stay same at least ! I have about £300 to spend Not fussed if rear box only or cat-back system Down to following I think.... Devil - but people...

Erm actually Dogmaul - I worked at Ripspeed in Edmonton & Brimsdown from 89 - 93 when it was owned by Keith so nothing to do with Halfords !!! Worked at Halfords too - Mini shop & Land Rover.....so got a fair idea about cars..... xx

Yeah - dont buy it Adtmits - that one is mine!!:D Apparently they are upgrading them as they are looking for a new importer as Automotif only do the motorbike ones now. So that one at Demon Tweeks is the old style so I will wait a month or so see what they come up with.

The devil does have a sound - very rumbly though - not that horrible wasp-in-a-can sound. I found it was cracking on the pug & when I spoke to my mate at Demon Tweeks he has fitted a few & said they sound cool.

No I am getting a Devil - had one on the pug & they are one of the few that give you 3-4bhp increase with just the back box. Was looking at Sebring but they are so quiet & a lot dearer. I am a total devil fan for french cars & they make bloody good motorbike ones too.

Start with my exhaust - but none of that powerflow stuff - as much as people on here rate them you must remember it is a universal fit so you get no increase in bhp in fact most of them can cause a loss...Then some work to the rear end & go from there. Paddy - decided deffo gonna get another...

My local Renault dealer (darlingtons) in Harlow have just sold my wheels for me - some people on here laughed at my asking price of £400 ono but they just sold em for £450 - lovely jubbly - more mods for Squirt now then !! :D

Yeah cheers Biggy - I had a Devil on my 306-gti 6 & loved it..

I went to the dreaded Xtreme in Harlow as they are powerflow dealers but the guy was so feckin rude & looked at me like I had just driven a Lada onto his forecourt that I decided to go elsewhere. I asked him stuff about the different tailpipes, sounds etc & he was so un- interested it was...

I also sent them an e mail about the new exhausts for the Clio 172 - got a very short sharp reply back without even a price or labour etc... Hmmm...not good first impression.
