Looks good mate. I assume you tweeked the saturation on that quite a bit. It would be good to see the in camera image to get a better idea of the lense quality. Any lense can be made to look good in PS ;)
Personally I use filters more for protection from scratches. Im bot a fan of hoods on small primes in particular. I doubt uv will effect a lens enough through general exposure.
I see what you're saying, but there are certain things the dslr range will do much better than other camera. These...
I was considering a D800, but I need a battery grip on my cameras now i've got used to it, and this makes it bigger than the d3 . I'm hoping to get hold of a decent second had d3s instead. D3 are still amazing bodies regardless of age. It depends on what you want to shoot I guess, and how...
200amp blade fuse will be fine mate. That's what I've used for the past few years. It's a tricky one because the cable rating isn't very high. I can't remember of the top of my head what the max draw on the Clio is, but 200 is overkill really. I've just not got round to changing it. 100amp would...
Build yourself? As said, 240 is more achievable. If you got someone to do it for you it's probably going to be 7-8k as it will need forged high comp bottom end, better cams and valves, maybe some head work. Plus it will obviously need aftermarket management.
depends what you shoot, and which ranges you use more of. If you're going for the 7100 then the 35mm f1.8 works well on it, as does the 70-300mm VR (105-405mm on dx). I also have the 28-70mm f2.8 which is nice and fast focusing, albeit a little heavy. Depends on how much you have to play with.
I can see where you are coming from, however the depth of review, which lets face it, is beyond what most people need to know is admirable. I always give his stuff a read, although I find FroKnows more to point, dispute his quirky methods
Assuming the belt was changed then that's bad luck mate. The belt must have been chaffing somewhere. Who changed it? Engine may be ok if it was turned off straight away although unlikely.
For me, it's not a big enough jump. I'm in the process of changing my d7000, but it will be for full frame only. If I was looking to upgrade from a d5100/d3200 etc, i'd pay the extra for the updated tech in the d7100.
