Exactly. 35mm will give a better 'actual' size on crop. Just get used to the stock lense or as mentioned the 55-200mm (which is a dx lens so range doesn't change). It's easy to get carried away and buy expensive lenses.

On a serious note, could you not pick up a shell from a scrap yard cheap? Assuming it's only for track does it matter if it has been scrapped?
Im with you. AT said it would just make the throttle response sharper. Plus it was going to be silly money to get one. What options are there at the pedal end?
