Alright guys,
just thinking of throttle bodies, and was wondering where the cheapest place to buy them is? and how much they would set me back?
Cheers, Ben (Red16)
LOL
looks like i might have to! gotta get my clio back on the road first, the gearbox has been away for repair for weeks and weks now, but i should have it back for the weekend, fingers crossed anyway!
Then ill have to make the clio faster in some way, so i can start competing again!

Hey, ive done 2 belts on clio valvers and theyre pretty straight forward. Ive never locked anything in place either, i just made sure piston number 1 was at TDC and then slotted the belt over the pulleys, making sure the marks on the cam pulleys linged up with the rocker cover marks! probs need...
i ran a 14.885s 1/4 mile and the closest willy 1/4 mile time i think was 15.3 set by jon in his standard williams
the performance difference isnt great but it just pulls much better from low down in the rev range, due to the extra torque it produces
All u need to do the conversion is
a) the Williams ECU or get your own ecu chipped to run the 2 litre engine
b) a small bodied starter motor which is the williams one. it has the same mounting hole locations as the 1.8 16v starter motor but its smaller body means it lines up correctly...
Nick mines a 2ltr bottom end with a Willy head, using 16v manifolds, injectors and loom! ECU was altered by Hill Power to run the williams engine. Seems to work quite well now as its 1.4 mile times showed
youre right! simple as lifting the 1.8 engine, take the head off, bolt it to the 2.0...
Adam,
The cars pi$$ing me off cos the bloody thing never wants to work for any length of time. But other than that, all is well, lol.
Hows this big horsepower idea of yours coming along?
I got 2 spare heads in my garage and one bottom end now, lol. i could fancy having a go at playing...
I was contemplating this conversion late last year, wouldve been nice to be the first person to do it. But being the first person you are the one who has to discover and run into all the problems and headaches that come with a conversion like this.
So i done a Williams conversion on my Clio...
Dunno if ive just got used to the R19 box or if it was sumthin else making the car feel sluggish! But it seems ok now. I think the ratios are slightly different, find out what its like up the strip compared to Leigh anyway next chance i get
Dunno about the speeds in gears either, cos i aint...
