y do u need new valve pockets machining if u have the pistons skimmed? the valves wont be opening any further than they did before the pistons were skimmed, so they shouldnt be coming into contact with the piston!
why not, its just a car!
People modify ferraris etc and theyre a little bit more special than a clio aint they!
it all depends on how it is modified and what the owner wants from the car!
clutch release bearing by the sounds of it, my car has exactly the same symptoms, rattley sound at tickover, goes away when the clutch is pressed and there is a bit of pressure on the bearing! Nothing serious tho, more annoying than anything else
u need to take the 1 bolt out that holds the pin (male bit) of the balljoint into the hub, then it should seperate with the splitter (cos its now just held in by friction from rust/crap), will probs need a bit of a whack with a hammer to get the splitter in mind ;)
buy a ball joint splitter from any motorist discount shop, set ya back about 5 quid

unless ya very careful and use grease on the balljoin to be split, u will damage the rubber boot on it, but if its to be...

could rebuild a 16v engine in a weekend to be honest, not that much work involved, the bulk of it would be grinding the valves in, which is a pain in the ar$e.
i dont know anyone from chesire who could rebuild your engine for you as im up north next to newcastle
looking at about 3-400 quid for parts to do a full engine rebuild, replacing everything, then you got your labour on top, but the engine would be like new afterwards.
Where u from myk16?
im selling a clio 16v centre exit system from cat back with matching rear bumper, its on ebay and i have an advert in the for sale section at the moment

u sure u lot are really getting this much torque steer and not exaggerating it by any chance? just that i cant really see it being this much of a problem on a brand new car to be honest (and its not a huge amount of power/torque really is it!), deffo cant see it being "like controling an...
