For some time now I have had a rattle coming from the rear of my car.
Today I got someone to agitate the rear spoiler whilst I sat in the car, bingo, this I what has been doing my head in for so long.
Does anybody know where I can get some single sided sticky foam tape to cushion the...
Do your new wheels have spigot rings?
I had this problem with some wheels I put on my old Calibra.
The spigot rings that were fitted were the correct diameter and bore, but they were too wide. The wheels did not pull up straight on the car as the wheels were locking up on the spigot ring and...
I'm using Greenstuff pads, they took me a while to get them bedded in so they did not fade under heavier braking. About 1000 miles worth of bedding in was needed in my case.
Redstuff are very harsh pads and will destroy your discs.
I have heard some good comments about Yellowstuff pads, they...
Leave the rear set-up as standard, I don't think there is much, if anything to be gained by making any change.
On the front, go with Goodridge S/S braided hoses (£50), Brembo High Carbon discs (G.S.F. £55 ish) and try E.B.C. Yellowstuff pads (£54 from RiceRocket).
There you go, I have saved...
I changed my brake set-up to exactly the same as you are going to do.
I was initially not impressed at all with the Greenstuff pads, too much fade when hot.
I don't do many miles, but after about 1000 miles they had settled in quite nicely, just took an age to bed in driving normally.
But it was your car not mine.
If it had been my car, I would have applied pressure without the brake fluid in the bottle, (dry run so to speak) to check for leaks.
And I would have not tipped the brake fluid bottle over, most expensive fluid change ever. :rasp:
Why not use the stuff that is recommended for your car, as I have stated, G.S.F. do it for about £15. You won't have to ask the question as to whether or not it is suitable.
If you are using a Gunsons Eezi-Bleed, connect the adaptor to a wheel valve with about 20 psi. I'm sure that is what I used last time.
I always place the bottle in a carrier bag just incase there are any leaks or mishaps.
Or try G.S.F., 5 litres of ready mixed Type D coolant (exactly the same stuff your Renault dealer will sell for £30) for £15*.
* It will be about £15 with discount, just stand there and stare at them till you get the price down.
I can't agree more.
I would apply my brakes, braking was very poor. I could feel a bite point but would have to push past this. I could then feel a springy sensation on the pedal, like the brake lines were expanding and bulging out. Still, even pressing harder there was no more braking effort...
Get an eezi-bleed kit, probably £15, 2 litres of brake fluid, £12, job done.
You can guarantee you will need to bleed the system again, if you buy the above, you will be geared up to do it as many times as you like.
MSN 8.1 is utter shite.
So I reverted back to MSN 7.5, but it will not work and insist on being upgraded back to 8.1.
You can gat around this by running 7.5 in Windows 2000 compatibility mode.
The difference between cheap headphones and dearer quality items is amazing.
Cheap headphones try to over compensate by blasting your head off with, often, distorted bass.
Better quality headphones have so much more clarity, even at very high sound levels.
About 9 months ago I bought a...
I think you are quoting prices from a few years ago mate.
I took delivery of 24 litres of Elf Excellium LDX 5W-40 today. It now costs £99 including delivery.
I think this is the problem my brother and myself experience not realising the full potential of our 182s.
Up until recently, my brother wanted a turbo car of some sort, due to the fact his 182 felt slow to him, but when you only cover (sub) 4500 miles a year on 2 year old cars like ours are...
Some Alpine head units have illumination you can match exactly to your car's dash lights.
Mine is such a head unit, CDA-9835R, it illuminates blue, green, red and amber and has a total of 512 combined shades.
I went to the DVLA office in Birmingham yesterday to get a plate swapped onto another car.
They took all documentation off me and said I will get some sort of confirmation within 10 days, possibly 7 days.
You will need to scrub your tyres in, when I picked up my Inferno 182, the steering was very vague compared to the Arctic 182 I traded in. After a few miles the steering became more responsive as the tyres became more grippy.
I think you also need to swap your tyres pressures around.
