My Brother and I did my cable last Sunday, I can't really comment on how long it should take, all I can say is next time it will be MUCH quicker, and hopefully I will not suffer so much with sunburn.
All I can say is it was well worth it, as I now have a very smooth clutch action.
I have had one 172 and two 182s, things like tyres and brakes don't seem to last very long.
I have just changed my pads, discs and hoses at 10,055 miles. I dont drive hard, but I would prefer confidence in my car's braking ability.
One thing I will not compromise on is braking performance...
I remember paying £50 for standard pads at a Renault dealer a few years ago.
Discs are going to be £30/£35 plus each.
Why go standard OEM when you could get better cheaper? I got Brembo high carbon discs and EBC Greenstuff pads for £94 from G.S.F.
I need to have my clutch cable changed, I called a dealer who said they would need my car for 3 days, in which time they would determine the problem, order in parts and do the job.
I'm 100% sure I just need a new clutch cable, so at the end of the month the dealer needs my car for 3 days to do...
I bought a Stanley bag from Machine Mart. I can fit my P.C. with 20 meter cable, all my pads, polishes, tools, etc. Everything P.C. related I own fits in the bag.
There are lots of internal and external pockets, and a top zipper section with more storage. I can't recommend this bag highly...
There are 2 types Gilmour Foam Gun on Ebay. Apart from the price, does anybody know what the difference is between the 2?
They are slightly different in looks and design, is one preferred over the other...
I changed the brake fluid 2 weeks ago with no improvement. I was still on original discs and pads at 9700 miles.
My original hoses "felt" like they were expanding under braking.
For the past 2/3 weeks I have had very spongy brakes. I bled the system with no inprovement.
So, today I have fitted Goodridge Hoses (thanks RiceRocketUk) EBC Greenstuff pads and Brembo High Carbon discs, aswell as new brake fluid again.
All I can say is wow. What an improvement. After just...
I know I will need more than one spanner. I'm asking if anybody knows what size flared spanner I will Need?
If you want to know what a flared spanner/flare nut spanner is, click the link...
I have been to Machine Mart this morning, about £50 for a tranny. Screwfix is cheaper, but you will have to add postage. The tranny I have was had by way of a five finger discount;) .

No transformer mate, I already have one.
That lot came to £184.46 delivered from U.S. ($347.62)
Plus £8.23 for 20 metres of arctic cable, £1.48 for 110V plug and £8.09 for push on terminals and PVC covers to fit arctic cable to P.C. (Push on terminals and PVC covers, 10 of each came to just...
Got my order through this week, ordered last Wednesday, arrived on Monday.
I have wired a 20 metre arctic cable straight to the P.C.
Just got to find a few victims to start practising on.
