Ran one wheel for best part of a year without a spigot ring before i figured out where to get a set from.....the fitting kit for halfords includes 16 wheel bolts too btw, so its not £36 for 4 bits of plastic, but i've stuill got most of the kit sat in my garage lol......worst that happened to...
Had orange mirrors, badges and some other bits and gulf stickers......had 172 badges but dunno if someone would do that to a 172.....looked a f**king joke lol
As a general rule the spigot rings set the center bore of the wheels, and the spacers set the offset of the wheel from the hub.
After market wheels will have a much larger bore than required, the spigot ring fits in and matches the bore of the hub, you can get kits with these in for most wheels...
There's one ina town by me....just normal yellow, people still jump on the brake for it tho....you can tell the locals tho....they just speed past it at twice the limit lol
can get around £20 for them scrap value, fucked or not, so you're looking at paying over that, expensive new.
What car is it for? If its a 1.2/1.4 then try your local scrap yard, if not ebay or go on williamsclio and look in the breaking cars section if its for a valver or williams
Make your own hill power relocation kit, or just an itg replacement filter, don't even think about putting an open induction kit in the engine bay,m as above will sap power
Will take ALOT longer than 7 hours, esp if he hasn't done it before, it took me 2 days first time i did it, most of it was spent removing things i eneded up not having to remove atall, and putting them back lol
Hardest part is lifting the box back up and getting it back on, esp if you are...
No, lights would still come on, although thinking about it wouldn't stop engine turning over.
I'd say from what you've just said ignition barrel is a likely cause
Yeah, as abopve older cars have less assistance, just ahve to push a bit harder, personally i prefer it as the braking is alot more progressive.
Also next time steer clear of the green stuff pads, pagid fast road are spot on, and only £30 from GSF for the mk1's
Really helpful that comment eh?
Check the wheels aren't loose for starters, and then its just a case of systematically going round everything on the frojt end and making sure everything is nice and tight, no loose bolts etc, then check your ball joints, cv joints etc
Symptoms if a fucked lamba are when its cold and idling revs dip down and then pick up again, and when you drive it it will kangaroo, and then sorts itself when warm.
Try unplugging the battery for a few hours, reset the ECU
Looked into shoe-horning a mk2 escort rack on, as they are easy to come by, but never got around to comparing the dimensions of the 2, the pivito points need to be in the same place, since you have a mk2 escort, this should be nice and easy for oyu.....report back ;)
When i looked i coudln't...
What width are your wheels?
I've run 205 over 195 before and they make f**k all difference, not worth the extra cost imo.
With 215 you might get it rubbing, esp round track, and they are gonna 'want to come off the rim more', if you get what i mean, won't be aas good a fit as they can be.
Old air filter and all tubing, although this will make your car slower as it sits on top of the engine and sucks all the hot air in, best off with a performance element....although you won't get the noise then
As above price is good, although GSF do exchange shafts for £45.....well last time i brought one anyways, although most places won't be happy fitting a part they haven't supplied
Apparently they grip better in the wet than road tyres once fully warmed up, which can be hard to do on the road.....dont' forget they are cut slicks, not full slicks
