Im thinking of putting 205/45/16s on the standard cup wheels. As im after these Avon Tyre ZZR (Road race tyres) and this is the smallest width they do.
Firstly has anyone done this size on these rims, if not please advise of a site or information on it.
Need to know if it rubs at all, as 195...
or as i do - dont bother pick a circuit that doesnt have any nasty bits.
my cup is booked into http://www.goldtrack.co.ukwww.goldtrack.co.uk for the 26 or 28th of feb (saturday) at silverstone.
just trying to get some Avon zzr tyres (road legal slicks) to replace the proxys on the spare...
sorry u said
they would only help if you lowered the vehicle and then used them to reset the camber back to spec
i thought you would guys would want to know just to make it a little more exciting around corners. If people wanted a normal car they wouldnt buy a cup would they?
Jay i do...
ok ok calm down u lot.
"lowering" interesting point (umm doesnt know what his talking about jay 172 sorry), but negative camber really is not completely linked to lowering.
The turn in is fabulous now, im at donington on sunday to try them out. I run on a set of old (mk2) clio 15"s with...
the cupra 225 is quite a car very quick.
the 210 cupra past me at a track day in the cup. Couldnt keep up the pace even at my sideway speeds.
(i thank-you)
dont miss the leather but the cup is better for track days, better turn in, no abs etc, wider track, lighter, better feel.
save the 1-2k and get a cup if ya just want the car. 10-11k for a newish cup.
good laugh, ok the colours a bit gay but hey.

Ok i agree with the following:-
the cup coughs a bit when cold:- not sure how to resolve but i can live with it on mine.
tram lines - yep it will do, 45 profile .....u should try a living with a focus if you think the cup tramlines.
knocking - yep i noticed that but seeing as i had no...
a group of us who go racing are be-mused by EVOs status of the RS focus. Its like a grown up R5 GT turbo.
.....it is superior to the clio but then its nearly 10k more.
Trust me an RS is worth a look, if the front end grip doesnt amaze you then the sheer stopping power of the brakes will...
track day fun, clio lived up to expectations by powerslides at 80mph.....this seems the best way to get the bugger round at speed. Drifting nicely.
went through front left tyre by midday and managed to find another tyre at wilsons in leicester 3 miles from the circuit. Only £74 which is pretty...
im also getting a knocking from the front left. Have it booked into renault for tuesday.
After this sats. track day at bruntingthorpe. Anyone coming along?
and 11.3k for the car is not bad for 1 month old. But need air con.
and whoever said the 172 was better than the RS focus??. Apart...
Ok so the RS focus was sold, didnt do too bad on it 7k miles and 2 shot front tyres £19300.
Just picked up a cup from camden milton Keynes, with 1200 miles on the clock at £11.3k
Seems very good, economy is un fin belivceable. ave 35mpg where the rs focus would be 15mpg.
Ok its not...
erm cerbera
The 172 mk1 is great, but cross country the RS would whip the 172 (use to have a 172 mk1) IMO but saying that it wouldnt return 36 mpg. More like 10-15mpg
sounds very good.
mike no exhaust for me, and yes they still look like mobile phones!!!
i think ren. came up trumps with the cup, its alot of car for the money!!
i use to have a mk 1 too it returned 35mpg which is great
Hello Guys how are you, been away for a while but Im back!!
Erm yes knocking around in an RS focus at the moment, which is a lovely bit of kit but does drink like theres no tomorrow.
But proved itself last night when it overtook a 172 sport at 100mph+ very nice.
Saying that though...
