Hi. My Mk3 had some pretty nasty swirls too, despite being only 2008 model. The problem is that Renault top coat is very soft and is very prone to swirls. I had to get her detailed recently as shown in my thread below and the guys that did the work used the Menzerna Intensive which gives a...
Ok, Ive a better picture of where you are coming from now. I had 2 Mk2 Clios. One was a Ph1 with old skool hydraulic steering, and a Ph3 with the newer electric assisted steering. It was also the same where it would be light at low speed and get more weighty the faster you went. Bear in mind...
If memory serves, you should be able to cure this by resetting the ECU. Make sure you have your stereo code before you do it but disconnect the battery for approx 30 mins, reconnect it, fire her up and it should be ok.
It works with a lot of my mates who do it here, not necessarily on...
I generally run 29psi in the fronts and 30 in the back. Gives me slightly better responses in cornering. Im running the 16 inch wheels with 195/50/16 Continental SportContact 2 tyres.
Not sure about bypassing the steering system. Its electronically controlled and the amount of assistance is...
Far as I know the steering rack is the same across the range. Its the suspension set up that differs. I find my Mk3 is fine in terms of steering. Check your tyre pressures as they may be too low. Mine was in for a lil bit of work during the week and had a basic Clio as a courtesy car for the...
Thanks lads. Yeah, I like the FDM sticker, although its a bit on the big side, could be more subtle. The owner of the frenchcarsireland.com site came up with it. Got sick of the whole JDM thing and got some done up. I also had a smilie face sticker on the other side but some toerag scumhead...
I have a Parrot CK3100 in my Clio and Ive tried using the MP3 player via bluetooth. Its epic fail tbqfh, the sound was tinny and dull and probably only about half of the range of listening to music thru the radio on its own. Plus it will only connect to the front 4 speakers, not the rears...
Well, I havent really been on here in a while. Blame work, which I no longer do  and other pressures which have kept me away from the interweb. Biggest change recently is that some really nice person decided to paint the wall next to where my car was parked, splashing her in house paint...
Im liking the work you have done mate. Id love to know where you got the carbon film for the interior? Mines up for sale here in Ireland but Im always hopeful that I will get a new job before the sale happens...
Personally, I wouldnt be into the green wheels but its your own car and you seem...
Just to point out this recall and issue relates to ALL Mk2 Clios, Ph1, 2 and 3 and also the Campus. Please folks, for your own safety, contact your nearest Renault dealership and at the very least check and see if the previous owner had the recall done or not.
Car looks great in in the pics Adam. Best of luck with her and see ya over the weekend! Cant wait to do the dual photo shoot, even though mines a non-sport :o
And for sale too :( :( F**king recession and job loss
Well David. As Bio thought, Im here to wax lyrical about the joys of lowering your car by 30mm and then being able to enjoy the car on a daily basis, get over speed bumps, park without kerbing the nuts off your kit etc. Mines like yours, Dynamique with the SX kit, standard 16 inch Canasta...
Clio 3 is just like all other Clios. The PCD is 4x100. Not sure of the offset on the factory wheels but you need an offset of ET37 to 42 for Clios. The RS 197/200 has a PCD of 5x100 if memory serves.
Thanks Kev, that was a good help. It seems to agree that its either faulty plugs or coil, but also suggests possible vacuum leak or even dodgy fuel. Which is a bit suspect cos I recently started using a different fuel which happens to be about 4 cent a litre cheaper than my normal fuel. I...
Hi guys
Been off here for a while but Im back. Need to renew my membership but thats another post lol!
So, the same problem that plagued my black Clio 1.4 has come back to haunt my newer red one. Basically, the emissions warning light comes on and flashes for a few seconds and then goes...
When I win the lotto Im packing my car off to Renault Sport in Dieppe with a blank cheque and Im telling them to build me a one-off Mk3 Clio V6. 300bhp, RWD, manic styling. Watch this space.......
I know what you mean. I get it a bit in my 1.4 but most of these people havent got a clue what its like to drive or be driven in a Renault Sport Clio. I keep promising myself it will be my next car and then I can really show the folks what a nice bit of power is ;)
Sorry to hear Adam. Id say its just cos you are rolling on the spare. Its narrower, smaller diameter and its only meant for emergencies. Get your tyre sorted out on Monday and it should be grand. Now, take 2 of these, drink plenty of fluids and call me in the morning :rasp:
Well Fletch! I test drove a 197 myself and absolutely loved it. I cant say I noticed the high revs but then I wasnt cruising in 6th for very long. My own 1.4 Clio sits at just under 4000 revs in 5th at 75mph (120kph) and I regularly take long trips. I cant say Ive ever noticed the car...
To the OP, I have Continental SportContact 2 tyres and find them excellent. They have very good performance in both wet and dry conditions and handle standing water quite well, even at motorway speeds. They probably dont offer quite the same level of grip as the SC3 but they are very good. Im...
255bhp through the rear wheels of a Clio is plenty. Its a 3.0L V6 wedged into a car the size of a hot press!! I drove a Ford Mustang in America this year and thats a 4.0L V6 with RWD and only 210bhp in a car that weighs more and handles like a 747 Jumbo Jet. Id call the Mustang a big...
Tis yes. Admittedly Ive only got 3 years NCB following a nasty crash but Im 34 driving a 08 Clio 1.4. And Im paying 600 euro fully comp. Some places just seem to pluck figures out of the air and say yeah, that seems reasonable.
The Laguna I was given when my black Mk3 was away trying to get sorted had the hands free card. It may be different for the Clio but all I had to do was get outta the car with the card, shut the door and walk away. The horn sounded gently twice and the mirrors folded in. Car locked. Done.
