To be honest the standard tweeters are fine, I'm running vibe slicks off a 400w rms 4ch amp and the tweeters sound great. More trouble than its worth fitting aftermarket ones.
IMO if you want a 1*2ff to look more sporty, you need to change the alloys, the standard ones just make it look too tame, good if you like the idea of having a sleeper though.
I remember the first time I felt the 5k kick driving the cup home from the dealer, was going onto a slip road off a roundabout in 2nd gear and I nearly shat myself (previous car was a 1.3 fiesta, so not surprising really lol). But now, although the kicks still there I don't feel it so much...
I embrace the fact that its a girls car, and when people mention it, I ask them how it makes them feel that my girls car would piss all over their 'non girls car' with ease.
With 3k to spend, I'd get a mint 172 cup with low miles and belts done etc... A good 182 for this money will generally be higher mileage which may or may not put you off.
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
A 5 door RS Clio is just wrong and the front badge is way too big, not a big fan of the way new cars are turning out these days
I bought my cup 3 months ago and have no regrets at all, best purchase of my life. I've never had a car with ABS, so it was nothing new to me, the only thing I would say is be careful using the brakes downhill, they lock up quicker than you might think.
As to waiting for financial comfort in...
I'm proud to say my 172 cup contributes to that 93%, being a cat D write off in feb 2003, only 5 months after it was first registered! God knows how lol
I'm 20, waited till now for reasonable insurance, if you can call £1130 a year reasonable :S Although saying that, I paid £1700 for insurance on my 1.3 fiesta when I was 17 lol
After reading up some more about this noise, it sounds like it could be the carbon canister. But if i reved the engine slightly from idle, would the knocking noise get faster if it was the carbon canister?
Theres no way I could have checked before buying as it only starts making the noise after at least 20 mins of driving and to be honest its such a slight noise I may not have even noticed it. I think its the dephasor because it sounds exactly the same as videos of engines people have diagnosed on...
Hi guys, I've had my 172 cup for 3 weeks now and I'm loving it :D. I have noticed though that after the engine has warmed up I can hear a slight noise from the dephaser pulley at idle and when I say slight I mean slight lol. You can't really hear it outside the car, but you can when you're in...
I would say stick some nice alloys on it (preferably Turini Speedlines :D), colour code the black plastic on the sides and bumpers, fit a spoiler from a 172/182 cup and if your budget stretches far enough lower it. Alternatively if insurance isn't an issue, sell it and buy a 172/182 :)
Drove past a 172 Cup in Abbington (near Cambridge) on Thursday (12/4/12) at about 7:30 AM, looked like it had a custom number plate starting with JEZ or something like that
Hi all, thought I'd say hi as im new on here, bought a 172 cup 3 weeks ago and I'm loving it :D I've come from a 1.3 fiesta (my first car):
Loved that car, even if it did only have 59bhp lol
Here is the new beast:
Needs a crack on the rear bumper fixing and the alloys need a refurb, but...
