I wasnt there but ive read some posts on other forums bitching about the fact that allegedly they didnt line everyone up on the line - giving some a bit of a start on the 0-60 times - could be BS.
Its not rocket science but car manufacturers seem to struggle when it comes to hot hatches. Renault manage atleast to keep on making good ones.
I agree with the Cup being far too closely matched to the std 182.
Doesnt make sense really - why not just have a base 182 with no luxuaries and...
Its all relative really - if you earn £20k a year £15k for a old Clio is madness - if you earn £220k a year its a bit of pocket change and if you earn £2,220k a year you could probably buy anything you want for pretty much any price.
I would assume someone that wanted to pay £15k for it has...
Stuck the Willie in the local free ads to test the water - and I get a pile of calls on the first day. One lad coming through on Sat probably to buy.:(
Something cheaper needed so I can do and pay for my open uni course - only really noticed how totally mint the car is when he asked me about...
You can left foot brake, clutch and accelerate all at the sametime in my Girlfriends VTShttp://www.cliosport.net/forum/smileys/smiley16.gif Makes for an interesting and crunchy journey!
Yup I paid near £7k for my Williams 1 3/4 years ago id be lucky to get £5,500 for it now. Not too bad for a 9 year old car but more depreciation than I can afford.
The RS Fiesta I sold at the time to get the Williams has just sold for more 2 years later than I sold it for!! The attraction of...
I reckon there is around a 1/3 of my Williams tank above the full mark. Then from full down accounts for the other 2/3rds.
Its the first car ive had that ive nearly run out of petrol with thanks to the last quarter dropping so quickly!
What does the average Standard Willie get on the 1/4mile?
I mean standard - no mods at all and not any seats/interior removal.
Has anyone got any times they could post for me?
What are the "others" you mentioned in your first post. Lets face it we know all the pros and cons to the 182 and CTR.
One is usually well built, bigger and is a little lacking in the steering feel dept.
One is not usually well built, smaller and very good in the steering feel dept.
I agree with edde even with all those ropey spelling mistakes;) She wants a Auto Williams then if I were her id get one.
People buy all kinds of things I wouldnt but thats no reason for them not to buy them.
Ive been lucky that in 1 1/2 years of ownership and 10,000 miles there has only been one actual fault (alarm went wonky).
Not too bad for a 9 year old car.
My girlfriends VTS has broken down 6 times in 6 months and once this week already. All different things. My mates VTR was the same...
This is what im thinking too - I work my ass off from 8am to 5pm everyweek and im the most successful person at our depot but due to lack of qualifications and prospects im stuck on a rubbish wage.
I just really dont want to part with the car as I always go to such hard work to get the one I...
Sell my Williams:(
Basically I need funds to do an Open University Degree so I the sensible option is too sell the Clio and get something £2,000 cheaper. I keep putting off getting this qualification and im very 30 soon so im going for it.
My 2 Options are:
A: Sell the Williams and replace...
Im considering a FRST again bigHP - cheaper than the Williams and can be made faster in a straight line easily.
Dont fancy a S2 ERST as its heavier and doesnt handle as well as the FRST.
The S1s are stupid money.
Had a MK2 16v Gti big bumper golf - superb car but I need cheap maintanence...
The Guy spent his money on what he wanted and has got a magazine feature which is also what he wanted.
Well Done Mate.
A Clio is just another lump of plastic and metal - not sure why Rob Fenn is so protective over them.
Brun reccomend this silkolene oil to me before and its superb - I let Renault put their own oil in for the last service and the engine is noticebly noisier - not sure if thats to do with the Oil or not.
I have owned lots of brands - VW, Pug, Citreon, Ford and now Renault. I will own any brand and Renaults product is great (like most French hot hatches and diesels:D) but the quality of it and the support is pretty shocking - I was speaking to a Cup owner in the pub the other night who is...
