Thanks Mick - Deffo on the key properly, made sure of that! i hope its just plugs!
Ah right, Cheers dan, i guess thats why you have to do 4 crank rotations to get the lines to line up again because its a "Four Stroke"
Will let you know about swapping the plugs later.
Well first thing i thought of was timing issue, but engine has been turned over MANY times now, and all the lines still match up etc, so dont think its that.
Yeah Will try that after i have had some food.
Cheers.
I did,
Timing tools? On a D7F engine? you having a laugh? its only 2 marks and a simple tensioner! .. i just went by the book and all went well.
I think its just plugs tbh... as its getting spark but only a weak one.
Had the cambelt snap about 4 days ago, picked up a new head gasket, Cambelt and some sealant, valves and pistons were fine so i rebuilt it back up following the book.. The bottom line on the pully was facing down to the ground (in line with the casing mark) and the line on the belt, and the mark...
Picked up a new TDC sensor today, fitted it, and was still not getting fuel, after racking my brains i took the oil filler cap off, shined a light down there and turned it over, cam wasn't moving, turns out the Cambelt had snapped.
45 mins later had the head in the garage on the bench, valves...
Managed to get it to turn over after a few hours of playing.
Checked all the fuses, all was fine, so took the starter motor out and stripped it down, rebuilt it and greased the cog end.
Turns over fine, getting spark fine, but now not getting fuel so im guessing TDC sensor?
Going to pick one up...
Mine dont have a crash button?
The head gasket went before between cylinders 2 and 3, and it ran but just in "Limp" mode. but depends if there is lots of water in the pot?
Also, got the light in the bay tonight and noticed splatters of oil on the bulkhead at the lower part of the engine, dont...
Was coming around a sweeping bend going down hill, went into third and jumped on the throttle to power out/down it, and nothing, absolutly nothing, engine was off.
Didn't stall or anything, no thuds, bangs, vibrations, music was on Quietly! didn't even notice! .. pulled over, hazzards on, just...
Spoke to Jord (F0xy), and what im going to do is just trace the rev counter signal wire, and run it straight to the ABS sensor, should work.
so dont need to use that item in the link i posted.
He also said i need the 172 Cup master cylinder, Sorted.
The reason for removing ABS is because the engine i am putting in, will take up room, and the turbo will be hanging right where the ABS block is sitting.
ABS is Pants anyway, and you get a much better feel for the road without it.
Basically i plan to remove my ABS system, and just run brakes straight from the master cylinder. My car is a Mk2Ph2 1.2 8V 02 clio, does anybody know what master cylinder i am going to have to buy?
Also, does anyone know what break line line i would have to buy, as i imagen its a certain...
Re: Bomber's Awesome Ph1 Track Slut
Good work mate, will be amazing when finished.
Really like that FMIC, where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking?
Brill, Thanks mate.
Will just cut the bracket off the back, straight through the hole, then make 2 plate bits to weld over the hole to keep it square.
Thanks dude.
Image pinched from "Wocka"'s post, hope you dont mind.
The hole underneath a 172 inlet manifold? .. Going to be cutting one up shortly to use the plenum for a R5 GTT Fuel injection conversion, but didnt know this hole was here, whats it for as i will have to weld a plate over it?
Cheers.
