Where to mount go pro on a trackday?

Timing strut (beam breaker). Used to break the light beam(s) that start and stop the timing on sprints and hillclimbs.

Where to mount go pro on a trackday?

Here's mine - it's probably a little bit vulnerable but it's only a cheap GoPro copy. It's a wifi version so I should be able to start it before the start of the run.

The corner does tend to kick the car up a little :-)

    One to avoid possibly.

Car was recorded as Cat C and also outstanding finance (although I know these aren't always accurate).

    One to avoid possibly.

Hi All I was in the hunt for a second 172 Cup (initially for parts but eventually to build a mod prod hillclimb car). I came across this on Gumtree - https://www.gumtree.com/p/renault/renault-clio-172-cup/1179807286 . The car was relatively local and seemed ideal for my needs . I was going to...

    Emerald K6 ECU

Hi All I'm planning on fitting an Emerald K6 ECU to my Clio Cup. The engine is relatively standard and needs to retain the standard throttle body to meet the class regulations (sprint and hillclimb). I'm happy enough with the wiring but was wondering whether anybody has successfully fitted one...

    EPAS Conversion

Hi All I’ve just ‘finished’ my EPAS conversion and thought I’d share what I learned whilst doing it. I removed the dash upper and lower dash panels (relatively easy and gets easier the more you do it!) and access was good. I found it was easier to undo the pinch bolt where the column meets...

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

The Nankangs don't grip very well when they don't touch the tarmac :-)

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

No idea. Sorry. I stopped listening when I found out they were no good for me!

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

Sorry. I should have said they are not E marked and not on the MSA's lists 1A or 1B .

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

I guess the 100 wear rate compound would be slightly more grippy but wear more quickly of course. The AR1s aren't currently approved by the Motor Sports Association so no good for me for sprints and hillclimbs.

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

Thanks Ben. The car has way more talent than me! The NS2Rs are also used by the Civics I think but they are the 100 wear rate and these aren't E marked so not suitable for road use / road going classes. Wyn

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

And Llandow With a bit of confidence in the car (second only sprint) and a bit more commitment it could have been way quicker with the grip from the Nankangs.

    Nankang ns2r peoples reviews ?

I've fitted a set of NS2R 120s on my sprint and hillclimb car. The car runs in the road rally class so doesn't have too many mods. I did a sprint on Saturday at Llandow and they seemed to provide plenty of grip even in the morning when it was wet. Sunday was a hillclimb at Llys y Fran and it...

WHAT "TRACKDAY" MODIFICATION TO CARRY OUT ON A TIGHT BUDGET???

Go to Avia Autos (Queens Court, Bridgend Industrial Estate). I'm sure Andy will sort out the belt and dephaser job. He has years of experience racing and building cars so will be able to help you with modifying it too. As The Boosh says, instruction would be the best option -get to Llandow and...

    Nankang

The 80 - 100 compound is not for road use - they are for specific race championships so are not E Marked.

    Cage bolt in/weld in? Daily?

I have a feeling the diagonal that slopes down from the dash would be the most annoying part of the cage if I was using it as a daily driver. You can't just swing your legs in and out.

    Cage bolt in/weld in? Daily?

You have very little access space with a cage / door bars and it would be an absolute pain hopping in and out - it's bad enough in a sprint / hillclimb car where you're in and out a lot during the day!

    Speaker Fault

Hi All I've got a fault with my Clio Sport (02). There is no sound from the main front and rear speakers and very quiet sound from the small front (dash) speakers. It's been like this since I bought the car. I've tried a different head unit and things are the same so I'm assuming it's the...

    Hello - FF 172 - Sprint & hillclimb car

Hi All I've been lurking on here for a while so thought I'd say hello. I've just bought an 02 Clio Sport - the car will be used in sprints and hillclimbs in the Welsh Championship in the Standard Production car class (standard means no modifications apart from safety!). I was looking for a...
