You dont do it with splines, thats all just a myth.
Take out both torsion bars, move the beam to where you want it (roughly 30-40mm higher than it was) and knock the bars back in. They will be siezed if they have never been out before and you need a proper slide hammer or drive shaft puller...
Right then lads,
There is a signal from the ECU that goes to the rev counter to give you the display. Im not sure exactly how the dial itself works but it is digital.
The wire goes from the ECU into the ignition pack then out into the loom and to the dash.
I spliced into the wire just...
Hmmm, the clios build quality lets it down massively. Although the pugs arent great!
For a second car, the williams everytime. For an everday car that costs less in parts, a more comfortable ride and the potential for more power much more easily then the GTI-6.

Does it still run? Are you sure it was only a backfire or has it dropped a valve? Is it possibel to get contaminated/bad batch nitrious oxide from whoever sells it to you?
Dont know why it would do that, not really into setting engines up, surely the best person to ask it the guy running the...
What do you mean the car doesnt cool down when not running, it must do as its not creating any heat and the ambient air temp is much lower.
Just use the gaskets that come with the fan switch and other bits (water pump etc) to seal them. no sealant is needed on threads.
I hate alarms and imobilisers. They are bad news when you want to do something on your car that involves disconnecting it.
Try engine earth strap. Make sure it is a very good connection, otherwise it will only turn over once in a while if your lucky.
Go for it, get him for all you can. There must be so much of this going on that we dont know about.
I cant stand dishonest garages and they should get whats coming to them.
Good luck!
You can keep your whole interior if you want. But why would you?
If you put a cage in it, take out all your interior and just have two front seats. Your back seats will be useless with a cage unless you have no diagonal. So dont carry them around for no reason, no seats = no parcel shelf...
Bloody hell, this bloke sounds like he hasnt got a clue. £1100 for an oil leak to be sorted, after he caused it? If he dropped the car on the sump, what other damage has been done. Could this be why it needed new disks?
I should go to trading standards, although I suppose you cant prove...
Why do you need a specially made manifold? I should think someone made a batch of them at some point.
It drastically increases fuel consumption. Why would you want to put them on your car if you didnt already drive it flat out everywhere? Therefore you will drive your car at high revs and at...
You could do it. You need a pair of carbs (weber or dellorto 40s), choked and jetted to suit (not really my area).
Inlet manifolds are available, try demon tweeks or rally web sites. You will need a low pressure fuel pump, (facet etc) and a fuel regulator (filter king etc) to get the correct...
Front wheel bearing mate. Jack the car up on one side, start driving the car (it wont move because of the diff) and see if it rumbles. Of not, do the other side and see what happens. Each side should be silent, if it makes a whining or rumbleing or any vibration through the car then bearing is...

Good effort Lofty, its good when it starts easily after an engine swap isnt it!
I am very tempted to do a swap. Now, wheres my cheque book, i need an engine...
Check your oil level... It sounds silly but youll be suprised how many people dont keep and eye on it.
Otherwise just the injectors tickingi should think.
