Yeah, we run the type of airbox that Nick R was talking about on our Group A KA rally car. Its a bit too simple for a good project but is just an airbox with an induction kit inside and a slot cut out the top with some foam stuck around the rim.
You then grab your plasma cutter and cut a hole...
Along what lines?
Materials? Composite brake ducts, new bodywork, re-trimmed seats/door cards, ICE install.
Electronic? Rev limiters and lights, fuel cut systems, traction control (easier if you have ABS already), air/fuel ratio guage (dont buy one for godness sake, they cost pence to make)...
Yep agree with Captain!
You should notice the difference straight away. You may find they sink a few millimeters after a good few runs but nothing to shout about.
Have a look at your springs and see if they are nice and shiney. They may have not even changed them, I have heard of this...
Ah, yes. Empty engine bay. Looks familier.
Your clio looks like my clios twin! Except mins got silver 16s, standard fuel cap, no locks and standard bump strips...
Very nice!
You wont get an F7 engine through an emisions test without a CAT. I mean without the clerical errors! It will fail tragically...
But kind of depends on who you know...
Good effort posting that idiots guide. Someone had to.
Your axel stands dont get much use do they?! Mine spends longer on the stands/ramp than the tarmac...
Not sure anout those scissor jacks, hope you didnt get under the car at that point!
I have just taken off my K&N ind kit and replaced it with a standard air box and standard filter.
After a good few miles and runs in varying conditions, i have to say;
Doesnt seem to matter what you run, its the same speed. You lose the scream of the K&N at 5000-7000 revs but thats about...
Fred; Your dampers cant absorb the undulations in the road surface that the stiffer and shorter spring exagerates. Thats the trouble with these lowering springs, any kind of rough surface and it knocks your teeth out.
Captain; Im not sure that keeping the footprint on the road surface...
Yes the kit is available, i know a FWD clio rally car with this kit, its very damn quick as well. (dumped his oil on a stage on the Isle of Man...the bugger)
Not sure if its a 1600 or 2000 but its not a works (S1600) car.

It will be the power that renault claim.
To compete in the Super 1600 category, you need this kind of power. The 206s and Pumas put out this power and so everyone else must too.
They use throttle bodies, rev very highly and need re-building every event.
They do sound nicer than any WRC...

How many coppers do you know that will:-
A; get on their hands and knees to look for a CAT under a (probably)low car and (most likely) in the dark
B; know what they are looking for?
C; give a to$$ when they can give you the same bit of paper that says (get your number plates (for example)...
Already have the 6x9s though. And have JBL co-axials in the front doors which sound good.
Figured i could use some mid and top end in the back and may aswell use the JBL 6x9s I already have.
Why not subs and 6x9s?
How the hell are they gonna know if you have a Cat on your car or not?
MOT means nothing anyway, just means at the time it was tested the car was road worthy, you may have cut the brake lines since but youd still be legal (and stupid...)
If Ive got 2 12" subs in a sealed box in the boot (pointing away from the rear seats, total of 200WRMS) and I want some 6x9s in the back, is it best to have them on a parcel shelf or in the rear door cards? What im saying is; will the sound produced from the different pairs of speakers interfere...
Anyone put 6x9s in the rear door cards of their 16v? What kind of sound do you get with the limited space behind there?
Can you get away with them on the shelf and subs in the boot or do the 6x9s sound crap then? And what do you strengthen the door cards with? (6/9mm MDF?)
