yeah like everyone says they are good for wheels and tgeir tracking sys is VERY cool, the printed report sort of reassures you!
but id go to someone else for other stuff
mitsi - they are right that the DVLA enforce it. ive seen (but only ever a couple of times!) their vans that drive around looking for tax evaders. Cant remember what it looks like but it was fairly clearly marked that that was its job.
i know so many people who drive without tax, and get away...
you can get an induction kit, i think the cone sits right on top of the intake rather than being fed to a corner of the engine bay via a hose.
look at http://www.hillpower.co.uk/http://www.hillpower.co.uk/ , they do a good IK
gotta get my motor back off Domonic first :@ hes kept mucking me about with the day its being done, but should get it today, then brakes on tomorrow eve...nice!
will get the camera out and post rob!
about 50quid in all, i think the discs are about 30quid an axle set and the pads around 20.

check out k-tec for their fast road discs+pads, mine should be coming today
rob - well yeah i told you its an unlucky motor! actually its been very mechanically sound since i bought it, its just the snow crash and the dickhead lorry drivign into me that have shagge the panelwork!
cheers ben i will look at the dog bone mount first, ive don them on a few cars so...
WHen the engine is running, when i put the trottle down, the gearstick moves forward slightly (noticable enough if you have your hand on it.) however, when you come off the throttle, it sort of snaps back into place. Is this a loose mounting?
if so, are there any dodgy ones that i should check...
erm, not too sure - a bit of improvising needed i reckon! can you rorate i t with pliers?
what about if you get a mate to push it up from below - that will put no pressure on the screw head, so you should be able to do it then. Or put a jack under it?
i had a story like this when i was fittign a HU and spkrs in someones mk2 fiesta. To get the old one out (it was wedged in) we actually had to take the dash out, and when it was all done and put back together we turned her over and got nothing! completely dead, not even turning over.
We took...
look in the boot for a big screw-like head. If you still have the original jack winder, its on the left hand side panel of the boot, then use the end of that to tighten/untighten the screw.
easy as that!
i think the gearing of the valver is different to be suited to the diff engine characteristics. I dont reckon the RT would benefit fro mthe valver box, but id be interested to know the outcome if anyone did this!
used to have an old sh*tter of a mcira too, but blew the engine on the m-way! im seriously thinking of gettin a second runaround, im doing so many miles in my car (about 6000 in the 3mths ive had it so far:o) and theres so much crime around my way, may get another stinker of a car!
dents STIl aint out yet mate, only getting the damage from the ice incident done on tuesday so thats one thing out of the way!
when you back next? i text u the other day, 2 see if youre going to the rolling road day - i take it youre not though, u never text back you bastad!
give us a bell...
bill - ashamed to say that i am a bit of an old granny in the snow, esp after my little unplanned meeting with the kerb after getting caught ion black ice last time it snowed. got any tips then (apart from dont crash)
i did the same thing last time it snowed, and i ended up needing a new rim and a new lower arm, + the bearing went very quickly ater that so i needed one of those aswell! for me,the steering was biased to the right, and was very wallowy round the corners. The bodyshop who are gonna fix it on...
what colours your motor mate? thinkin of gettin them on mine but mines met green and not sure if itll look any good!
anyone whos handy with paintshop fancy a go?
with my lowly RT on 15s, i havent gained any top speed, more like lost it (about 10-15mph), but i suppose thats becuase of the cack engine!
cant really add to what nick said, but in my experience with these i can certainly grip more round bends (and i certainly would have crashed on the a2 the...
hmm...i reckon im gonna get just the straight swap, im not that aggressive as a driver but just want that extra stopping power if i need it...and with the sh*t drivers around at the minute waiting to pull out on you at any minute, i reckon i need it :@
will the x-drilled (with kevlar pads)...
i spoke to David yesterday - if you get the fast road brakes for an RT they are not vented, just straight swap x-drilled replacements for the std ones.
should i save a bit more and get bigger brakes (valver caliper, discs) in your opinions?
