Nothing, but then theres nothing really wrong with say a standard filter but things can always be improved - every little helps in cars like these IMO.
you can't use thicker ones else we would use thicker PTFE? the 172/182 inlet setup is very tight. we have no instances to date of air leaks, etc - only happy customers and results. If you use standard torque settings you should see no over compression even when fully heated.
(we have many...
excellent; well ball is in my court to get prices over to them hopefully later this evening then I'm sure they will be in a position to offer you some sort of an all-in-one done price as well.
cheers all
if it helps...
I am just waiting for a new possible material price up before giving Jamsport my best possible price on the gasket sets (material price based on even bigger bulk purchase).
Bearing in mind they are willing to adapt the manifolds where neccessary to suit the gaskets, plus the...
NB: Nothing in concrete at all yet but it is plausible I will be doing business with Jamsport in the new year with these gaskets - meaning you may be able to get an even better deal on the whole package. Like I said nothing set yet - but it may weigh your decision on where this group buy is...
many people dont grind off anything at all - the gaskets aren't that much thicker than standard but in some instances a tiny portion needs taking back which is literally a one minute simple task for anyone... and I do mean that. You could do it with a file.
The holes are the same size as the...
Either way - IK or an ITG Panel filter... depends how much noise you want... both kits will provide similar peformance... the IK only will with a CAF though otherwise it will just get too much hot air. For the OEM look go for the panel filter.
I am in Nottingham so easy pick up for you mate.
I would be VERY suprised if the gaskets gave any air leak - many people have fitted and nobody has had a problem like this and I never have had on past cars to which I have fitted them to. the properties of the material lend themselves to sealing well; I would stongly predict it to be a fuelling...
ben lee hasn't come back to us for a while following us sending him some trial gaskets...
I may have to look elsewhere for someone to help us - anyone willing drop me a PM.
You should have on instance of this at all mate unless your breather isn't connected underneath properly as a result of using the washers but most people don't find this.... as Caister has put we have had nothing but good results; that is unless you haven't fitted them correctly?
Let me know...
We could use different bolts or just some ptfe washers - lets see what ben comes back with.
Ben - sent to you today 3mm foamex, plus various 1mm cardboard examples so you can build up the layers to find the perfect thickness. send 1st class so you should recieve tomrorow mate - let me know...
Is it really? I wasn't aware of that... it will make a difference but not as great as the alu RS ones. The only way to know will to trial one and see where we stand after. Afterall it is only a small amount to pay and in the true tradition of the 106 rallye forum - every little helps!
I can't really say if it possible mate - having never seen one, owned one, etc I couldn't say. best thing for you to do is go away, have a think and let me know what you come up with - PTFE can probably hack around 200celcius but exhausts will get that; it will need to be thick with some sort of...
ben lee is now going to do trialling for us - confirmed. we will be sending out trial gaskets in 1,2 and 3mm, cut on Wednesday for delivery by Thurs/Fri hopefully.
Is happy to do a write up for you all as well once we have confirmed fitment....
obviously a big thank you to him on my behalf.
for the R5 or the K4M?
I honestly don't see how you can do the R5 one - it would just melt using an exhaust all in one.
K4M in 3mm you'll be looking approx £25-30 del'd.
thinner gaskets mean less price of course as cheaper material.
thought as much - had someone else enquire about R5 stuff before.
like i say would be willing to let someone have a go but it seems like hardwork.... unless you can use half and half?
Difficult to say mate; they should be able to cope upto about 200degrees celcius - at 5mm thick maybe more I don't know... we do use the best grade available but I wouldn't like to be definite on this.
I could let you trial but would have to be your decision. C1j being?>
