When my Mum and Dad bought their new car cash, the salesman tried to flog them GAP insurance. Soon stopped talking when I pointed out it comes as standard for the first year with their insurer.
I can understand why people might take it when buying a car on finance, but it seems most financial...
To be honest it depends how long you plan on going without a car for. NCD is only void if it isnt used for 2 years, so you can go without a car for that long without losing it.
Wasn't just the works either, was the JCW I think they said..
As above, it wasnt scientific but from the way they were talkin about it I think they had made their minds up from the start. Seemed to love the cup, prob would of recommended it even if it lost the tests..
Haha, my mini owning mate rang me to demand I watch it. Was expecting the JCW to come out on top after the reviews I've read but needless to say I was grinning at the end. Texted him back to see if he's planning an upgrade to a cup ;)
Better security features and better driver aids mean less likelyhood of a claim. Also 1*2s have a crappy claims history so insurance companies expect more claims from them..
Insurance is a regulated but complicated business, I love the way that some people just see it as a tax and figure that...
This is the same as "Oh it had an induction kit on it when I bought it, I thought it came like that". Ignorance is no excuse. An insurance company will cease on any nondisclosure as a reason to invalidate a policy. A cat D write off won't be a problem and won't load the premium with most...
Insurance will know when you make a claim, they will ask for the logbook which will show it was a write off. Failure to disclose on your insurance will invalidate the cover and encouraging someone to do so is stupid. All the insurance company will want is to see the engineers report and there...
I've had my 182 since last July and I absolutely love it, but even in that short space of time, I've started to feel the pinch.
Admitedly I have started seeing a girl in Leeds so the mileage is a little higher than I had predicted, but with the budget meaning vehicle tax is to increase next...
I know its because it is German, my point was i can understand an "enthusiast" making this sort of modification on a premium/rare/sports car like an RS, but this was a bog standard derv passat (with a UK registration i hasten to add).. looked stupid.
Can kind of understand why ppl want "F" plates on an RS clio, thought it was a bit daft when I saw some chav in a diesel passat with "D" plates on it the other day tho..
Get between 31 and 32mpg usually. Drove to heathrow to pick up my mate the other day and filled up at a BP motorway service station.. 119.9p for ultimate! needless to say I didnt fill the tank :(
Factory Fit options should make no diff to your premium. They should however be declared as if you write the car off, your replacement/pay out will be based on it either having or not having the extras. A lot of companies will replace a written off car on a "new for old" basis if it is less than...
Can get ADFT cover with some companies, ie not covered for third party risks so not road legal, just covered for theft etc, but I don't know if these policies would accrue NCD..
