^^^ I agree they do look better, they're just not high def, and they wont be 'true' 1080p as the image simply doesnt contain the pixels, even if it is carried on a digital 1080p signal! Try comparing an upscaled SD dvd to a BD or HD DVD counterpart and you'll see a big difference again.

I dont disagree the PS3 is better for movies, but I only play games on my console, I leave the movies to stand alone equipment which will always be better (if not cheaper), but the PS3 is a great way to enjoy Blue Ray. You need a big TV to appriciate 1080P as the naked eye wont really notice it...

...erm, thats only really true on SD tv broadcasts. You should see a big improvement on SD dvd (if through a good source, such as RGB) and of course HD stuff. The set should have some pre-set picture modes, such as movie, tv etc. Have you tried those?
