...er, not entirely true. They've had almost the same amount of time as the 360, as the hardware / dev kits were available from the very beginning, its only the consumers, not the developers that have seen the delay (almost 9 months). Dont forget the delay was due to the blue ray diodes not...
No, if you look at detailed specs on the same link, it outputs primarily 720p but will output 1080i/p downscaled, as per pretty much all 1366 x 768 panels. Thats pretty standard fare. The 'display format' is simply referring to the res of the panel, and this is the same as any TV under £1500!
You wont really notice a difference on a screen that size, you need to go 42" and above to physically be able to notice the higher res so to pay extra for 1080P panel this size is a bit of a waste...
It can do 1080i, they just ommitted it from the page. Its on the specs.
No point really in 1080i on a 1366 x 768 panel anyway really, better off with 720p, which is what the majority of stuff runs anyway.
Thats a top set, cant fault it, esp at that price!
If you actually bought some top games you wouldnt want to sell it, lol! (though Dead Rising is pretty good!). There really is no point in selling a 360 for a PS3, I play my mates and there really is nothing in it, unless you desparately want Blu Ray.
Unfortunately, you'll find SD sky or digital cable (SD) looks blocky on most HD tv's as the source is very poor and compressed. This is showing more on the HD LCD simply as it picks out all the various imperfections in the image a lot more than your old CRT used to, and Sky and cable run very...
In actual fact, the PS3 is the only BD player than can have firmware updates via the internet as none of the standalone players actually have internet connections (unlike all standalone HD DVD players where ethernet connections are part of the HD DVD standard). So if you want a firmware update...
Its physically impossible to display 1080P unless you have the right amount of pixels (minimum of 1920 × 1080) so your TV cannot display true 1080P. It will receive the signal and downscale it. Its the same for plasma as LCD.
However, the Samsung you almost bought is full on proper 1080P with...
My x-box didnt break today! Never had any probs and neither have my mates. I think the problem is simply to do with a batch of consoles rather than the 360 itself. This update only affected certain consoles and the chances are if you've had your 'box for over 8 months or so with no probs...
I've played the full version on single player, its ok, fairly solid FPS. The more I've played it the more I've grown to like it. Its just dissapointing graphically considering (though the graphics are a mixed bunch, the Nottingham level looks quite stunning in places, unlike the real place...
I'm assuming thats aimed at me as I brought the subject of adware up? Well I'm sorry, if its embedded into the source code on the installation disk by the developer (confirmed by a disc scan afterwards of the original disc) then how the hell are you supposed to avoid it???
^^^ but surely if you are going this high res, the time comes when you need a new monitor to view them as most standard monitors are 1280 x 1024 resolution - pretty much the same as an HD tv (obviously with a different ratio)?
I've had a couple. One particually annoying bit of unwanted software was installed by Battlefield 1942 (EA I think) whereby it installed a piece of spywhere/adware which would make pop ups appear during the game advertising their releases during an online game! This had the effect of shutting...
Sorry, PCs for games machines are a pain in the rear end.
Sure, you can pay 1.5k plus for an overblown word processor and buy games for about 6 months before the games technology overtakes the systems once more and you need a new £400 graphics card to run the games at a decent res.
And then...
Blimey, this has turned into a playground arguement now!!
Its all about the games... We should consider ourselves lucky we have this choice. I remember when I used to go into Circle K after school to put 10p in Shinobi and wondering if we would ever have games of that quality in our homes...
Saying Dave is the only one who "knows what he is talking about and seems to be the only one who has played both" is a little short sighted. Have you read this thread?! Not having both doesnt mean you cant express an opinion - most of us arnt that lucky! I've played both, but yes, I own a 360. I...
Sorry, cant see how any of the above 'blew you away', most of that, apart from f1 is very underwhelming to say the least! Resistence was very average IMO, better off with COD3 on either format! Horses for courses I suppose.
Motorstorm is addictive, I'll give you that but I was very...
Supposidly it only effects the batches built in the 1st 6 months or so of production (according to various forums), and there are still some for sale around today. Personally, I've had mine for 10 months with no probs, and 6 of my mates have them and they've had no probs either. I'm sure theres...
^^^ what game blew you away? I've played the release games and imported titles not in the uk yet and the only one which mildly held my interest was F1 (being an F1 nut).
I'm not saying one is better than the other as they both have strong and weak points, but you have to say the games thus far...
I have to argue the point about the 360 being a year or so ahead on the development front, and that developers have had 'more time' to prefect 360 games on a technical level... What people seem to forget is that the PS3 was due to come out only a few months after the 360, and the tech specs have...
I must say, all these different accounts sound a bit more complex than the 360 online stuff! Is the online any good as I've only played a US one which for some reason we couldnt hook up?
All good info, but... 1080P is not really necessary in a TV under 40" because on screens smaller than that the naked eye wouldnt be able to notice the extra detail! Unless you want a seriously big screen spending the extra for a 1080P screen would be a waste of cash. 720P is more than enough for...
