Today's project was a very well kept Ford Focus ST in Performance Blue. The car was incredibly tidy and a real credit to my client but it had picked up a few paint defects over the years, mostly swirling with some deeper scratches. The mission was to restore the paint to its original glory...
Today's booking was a Range Rover Sport in metallic black. The car was booked in for a single day Light Correction Detail, so the aim was to do what I could with the swirly paint in the space of a single day, concentrating specifically on the exterior of the vehicle and then to also lay down...
If you keep speed, heat and aggressivness down then you can of course polish them.
I use a DA, speed 3, finishing pad and Auto Finesse Tripple.

Well P1 and Wool would be the heaviest cut of course, but you should always start with a sensible light combination and progress from there until you find something that allows you a finish that is hologram free within the time you have available. going balls out and taking out swirls, but...
DA can remove just as much clearcoat as a Rotary.
Anyone attempting any paint correction without a PDG is very naive indeed. It simply isn't worth the risk for the sake of £200, especially with how many cars are being 'polished' these days.
Why CQuartz out of interest mate? Opti Coat has impressed me the most...
Zaino is great for the money, but it has etching issues. Nothing 'does it all' for me yet still...
Agree mate. Just going to keep this, get Vintage and another under £50 I think. Most customers want sealants or coating now!!
The TT Roadster is black and battered... will be a good one :)
Depends on so many factors, but with right technique it matches wool on a rotary on some paints...
You can swap out D300 for other compounds too btw to get more cut. The disc is the key part, not the polish.
Please don't not buy it, as it will speed up DA correction, but be sure to refine it properly afterwards with Megs 205 and foam pad, just not use D301.
Its good on the right paint, but will make a mess of softer paints so it depends on the car really. 301 is poor IMO and leaves a very average finish. The biggest issue with D300 and MF Discs is the micro marring they induce in the clearcoat which isn't always apparent upon initial inspecion...
The owner of this car had seen my work on Detailing World and contacted me enquiring about a price for a detail to specifically concentrate on the paintwork of his Z3 3.0i Roadster, as the roof had already been protected so didn't require any attention.
The was in great condition, but like...
When I first saw this Clio 172 I was astounded at how well presented it was - the entire car looked flawless and was a real credit to its owner. Monaco Blue is a fantastic colour and I've always liked 172's so this one was a real pleasure.
Unfortunately due to heavy rain I have no pics of the...
I've been a long standing fan of the JDM Type-R models including the CW EP3 Civic, the DC2 and FD2 Civic. The DC5 though has to be my favourite, so I really enjoyed this one…

Imola Red is a firm favourite colour of mine, so I've been looking forward to this 330Ci for quite some time since it was booked in a month or so ago. It is very low mileage for its age but the car was severely lacking gloss and the paint defects could be seen in just natural daylight, so I...
This was a hard one - I had quite severe food poisoning coming on during the day without realising but luckily unlike a lot of RenaultSports the paint wasn't too tricky and was correcting very well. Luckily I also had some help on hand - the owner was keen to learn and helped with a few panels...
This one has been booked in for a few months after a number of personal recommendations, but had to be rescheduled to yesterday. Black Gold is one of my personal favourite all time colours to work on as the transformation can be incredibly impressive...
Please excuse my limited 'wash...
I'm Junc 10 M6 Rob - WS2 area :)
I charge the same!! Same day rate as if I were doing it myself. I guess a group tuition would be cheaper for everyone, but I'd want to keep it to 3-4 so that everyone takes something away from it - some of these classes you see 10 people standing around and...
For a single stage polish on VAG I'd suggest something like Menz 203S and a 3M Polishing Pad. The key is to choose something which cuts well but also finishes down perfectly (no hologramming!). As stated, using G3 will just leave you with a mess!
I'm a little behind on my write ups at the moment so spending the bank holiday sharing my latest work with you. This detail took place on Saturday and was my first dedicated Tuition Detail. The owner of the car (a DW member from Leicester) wanted some help improving their machine polishing...
It's the one in Walsall Lee, just a minute from my place so ideal really for a few quick pics.
I can't wait to see this one with all of the BMW-P bits on it.
