It's honda's marketing genius...they are the first not to have sponsorship, which in turn makes everyone talk about it, and then they sell loads of hybrid and electric cars!
And we thought they just had strong morals! lol
^^ sounds like PE2's would probably suit you better. Their limits are more approachable in all weathers even if they have less ultimate grip, but it sounds like you drive within the current tyres boundries - and you'd be losing the wet weather security and not using the extra grip the parada's...
They're fine in the damp as long as you don't expect miracles - I doubt you'd notice a massive difference from the PE2's. In the dry they're far superior....and summer is on its way.
PE2's are decent enough, long-lasting tyres.
Parada's in the dry will grip until your face hurts. After experiencing them in rmccardal's car, I would highly recommend them (especially for the prices you can find them).
Sounds like you got through to someone helpful...they'll probably fire him soon! lol. £200 for something you had no control over is daylight robbery - trouble is, its legal, and if you don't declare it, you could face problems if you need to claim in future.
Before you get too elated, don't forget your insurance company will bum you hard when they you tell them you had a no-fault claim that was successfully reclaimed. Really angers me - you are no greater risk, yet you pay them more.
If it was the difference between HD and no HD, I'd upgrade. In reality, its the difference between analogue 720p and digital 720p (and will be for most people for the next year or so) which is more subtle than the difference between 720p and 1080p!
I've only watched a few HD-DVD's, but I found the following:
King Kong - amazing quality, clearly filmed with the latest equipment with HD in mind.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - as above, not quite as glossy, but still very impressive.
Serenity - not great, quite hard to tell the difference between it...
I had the same dilemma but went for the Becker because it supported mp3 and didn't require individual wire connections (i.e. could buy a standard converter). Think nak wins on sound quality though.
You couldn't be more wrong - Becker are one of the best for build and finish, the volume knob and buttons are all nicely weighted. Compared to Sony, Alpine, etc. these feel worth the extra £££.
For £130 it doesn't really matter which format survives, might as well enjoy cutting-edge video as it really is amazing quality. King Kong (s**t film) city-scenes look like a well-taken photo - pin-sharp, amazing colour and detail. It won't make a bad film good, but it is definitely the way forward.
You can pickup a CSL for about 30k. An Evo would probably be quicker from A to B, but I'd guess the CSL would have it in a straightline and in the dry there wouldn't be much difference round the corners. All I can be sure of is A) the CSL would sound better B) it would look better and C) it...
M3 CSL is where my money would be, depreciated loads already and you won't worry about reliability. I see more V6's than CSL's so exclusivity is taken care of, and I hear they're pretty good at the high speed handling...
Subway, get the TVR. I considered a t350c but got too scared when I read about engine rebuilds, etc. Think it'll be a car you'll remember though. You can always buy the Evo once you've lost a few grand in repair bills ;)
As for the haters... :nono::rolleyes:
I don't have a garage Simon, but I keep them on my driveway which is in a private cul-de-sac AND under a cover....nothing like being paranoid! lol

You would think so, but covering up a car has a psychological effect on dumb, retarded, ASBO-seeking, hoodie wearing pikeys. Its like having a fence in front of your house, it makes people think twice about going on someone else's property, even though its almost as easy as no fence. Wow, I...
If I lived on a road like you described Daz, I wouldn't have anything nicer than an 100k mile Mondeo - even seeing it scratched accidently would upset me too much.
Yeah, maybe I'm a bit too sensitive thinking about it ;)
