I used www.demonplates.com, nothing but praise for them and the price is reasonable. Don't need any documents to prove you license the plate either on sites like that.
Will do a discount for CS members (10% or so + free postage) for all items

Pretty sure genuine discs were used, but I'll check with Birchdown tomorrow (unless Steve reads this first!). Doesn't sound too expensive to fix regardless, presuming it is the bearing.
I should mention that the car feels totally fine while being driven, when it makes the noise. No pulling or slowing or anything that would make me think the brake isn't totally disengaged.
I've just had my car worked on (service + rear brakes + handbrake), and one of the reasons I had the rear brakes and handbrake cables changed was because the discs and pads were shot, the cables were stretched, and the handbrake wouldn't hold the car completely on a hill.
When it wouldn't hold...
I run a 172 with the same wheels and 205 section tyres, with Eibachs. Any wider and the rears would rub under compression, so I wouldn't if I was you, although it would help the look of the stance (although who cares about that when the car's moving :D)
Cool, cheers for the sanity check. Will wait for a bit and see if it fires, otherwise I'll be pushing or testing my new RAC cover for the first time :D
I'm off to Birchdown tomorrow for the 72K work and some other bits and bobs on my 172, so me and the missus are staying at her sister's tonigh nearby since the car needs to be there by 9am.
Anyway, we've stopped at Cheshire Oaks so she can get her bargainous shop on, and I've sat in the car...
I picked up a set of T1-Rs after wimping out on R888s (although I can't find them in 205|195/45/16 at the moment anyway).
Nobody told me how much new tyres absolutely STINK, haha. My house reeks of fresh rubber, and it's not a pleasant smell.
That would be excellent :D I've seen a vid of yours and it's what turned me on to Yozza systems. Sounds brilliant, only thing I'm worried about is the noise at 60-70 and whether it's too loud.
Fail! Oh well, I'll give them another go when it comes to renewal time.
AhmedRSi, I'm with Elephant at the mo. They're nice enough, and do most things over email which I prefer (there's no ambiguity about what's being said, and it's all down on paper so to speak).
When I was shopping it seemed to be up to them. Couple of calls and a few emails, all of them mentioning the (admittedly light) mods, etc and they were having none of it in terms of a cheaper specialist policy.
Flux have a range of specialist underwriters they can use for heavily modified cars, if I remember correctly. I really tried to go with them when shopping around, but no matter what I said their quote was sky high. Oh well :(
I'm thinking about replacing the exhaust on my 172 and I'm wondering what the average hit is for most people on here, if any. I'd ring the insurer up but they're a bit clueless about mods, so I'd rather put that off until the last minute :dead:
Thinking about a Yozzasport 2.5" if that helps
The only thing wrong with F40s is that they're so rare and expensive now that a ride in one is likely never to happen, and owning one is out of the question, because by the time I'm old enough and wise enough to have a sniff of having the money, they'll probably have shot up to a few million...
I a programmer for BT, working at Plusnet, with one of the perks of the job being friends and family discounts. Current deal there is 3 months free, which if you can get the £5.99 deal (depends on where you live), that makes the first year's outlay just £45.
The only downside is 18 month for...
Took that auction down because I love it and didn't need the money, but now the 172 needs some work so it's time to properly get rid.

A black 182 outside Pizza Hut in Berkeley Precint, just off Ecclesall Road, and a blue 197 with F1 stickers in the same carpark, just outside Tesco.
Then a blue 182 FF parked on Ecclesall Road itself (looked v.clean!) not far up the road, and then another blue 197 passed me as I nipped up to...
My ph2 172 bullets are marked and I was thinking about refurbing or replacing them. How easy is it to get them off? I searched the forums and the guides but came up empty.
Any clues?
Finally got round to this today. The guide was very helpful, massive thanks to whoever took the time out to write it and take the pics, it was brilliant.
One thing didn't quite tally up though, for my 172 FF (guide's for 182s). The two screws underneath the steering wheel didn't need to come...
