I want to increase the pressure in my fuel rail and i've found a replacement FPR that runs at 4bar - can someone tell me if the fuel rail be able to handle this (mines a plastic item)?
Also does anyone have access to a VW parts system? I need to see what car a particular part belongs to given...
Away to lower my clio (again) this weekend and i'll need to build up a torsion bar extractor using a nut/bolt/socket.
Can anyone remember what size of bolt i need to screw into the torsion bar) as i've forgotten from last time?

Folks, could anyone tell me if they have a (cable operated) throttle design similar to the following on their car?
I have something similar to this on my 1.2 but i'm looking for a larger example that can (hopefully) be modified to fit via a custom adapter.
If you have, could you name the...
Can anyone tell me the difference between the driveshafts for DIET engined cars and other non-16v clio driveshafts?
GFS listed them as being different...in what way?
As above, is this doable with the std non-16v arches?
Going to have some 195/45/R15 wheels slapped on with 70mm front springs...need to know if its going to tear my front wings off or not!!
Thanks
Question;
catcams do a camshaft for a particular engine but done seem to do a vernier pulley to match. I know you can use the standard pulley on the shaft but what effect will this have on the timing?
Will the camshaft be designed to mathc the standard pulley (i.e. timed in by its design)...
Whats the likely cost of getting a garage to fit;
- a cam to an 8v car?,
- head and cam to an 8v car?
On my old 16v i was about 320 to fit and time in cams but im wondering what the relative cost of doing an 8v is...i assume itll be cheaper due to the simplicity?
Ta!
Small (PMSL) problem ive got with my 1.2 DIET engine which id appreciate any help on;
basically the car will fail to start for at least 5-10mins after having been run yet starts bang on if left for an extended period of time (i.e overnight/all day)
any thought what this could be?
Cheers!
As above, would like to see what kits you use and were they are located in the bay etc.
This is for a mk2 1.2 8v or a mk1 phase 3 both with the DIET engine btw...
Thanks!
Folks,
a kiddy near me (scotland) is selling her clio and its got some afterburners on it. These seem to be in demand as you can no longer buy them so, assuming i could buy them, would anyone be wanting to buy them? Also, if you would what would be expecting to pay?
Theyre currently in black.
As most of you know i sold my 1.8 16v a few weeks ago to BRUN as i cant afford to run it come september. Since then ive got my new car - a mighty 1.2 - but despite warnings about not to bugger about with it ive had to tweak a few things; :wink...
Right as some of you may know im getting rid of my valver...but am struggling to do so and it needs sorted before the end of the month before it needs taxed again.
Now, i have seen a suitable replacement at a local garage - a 1.2 Mk 1 Phase 3...40k on the clock and listed at about 2k. Question...
A few questions about swapping engines insurance/DVLA wise;
Will insurance company only charge more if the capacity increases?
How will the insurance group actually be altered - will it take the group of the car the engine came from or is it worked out another way?
What does the DVLA...
Does anyone know if this is on file anywhere (jpeg/gif/bmp etc)? I have a colour-coding job planned and ideally would like to change the text from yellow to another colour...
Many Thanks! :-)
When i first got my valver over a year ago it came with an aftermarket imobiliser but i only got one key. Ideally id like to remove it a reinstate the OE one but can anyone tell me how easy this would be to do myself - its wired into the ignition barrel lead as far as i can tell so would i be...

...fit stainless systems or will they say no?
I need to get my straight-through (yay!) system on and they seem to be the only place open late. How much will i be looking at as well - its only about a half hour job isnt it?
Can someone breifly explain how the immobiliser (i assume its that key in the glovebox?) in a valver is connected up?
Reason i ask i that i have some crappy aftermarket system in mine which im going to remove and want to check wether all the connections for the original one are all in place...
