Personally I'd just use spacers, but it's your choice, I have spacers on my 172.
I have a subframe here you can have for £10 and an ARB for £5, if that's cheaper than the breakers...will have some other parts, but as mentioned above, spacers would be easier.....
I know this states all sorted but I don't know if that means money or parts... So, I have a working 172 engine that I have up for £150. It did run fine until I started stripping the car.
No alternator, coil pack/leads or PAS pump, but does come with inlet and exhaust manifolds... Let me know if...
Just been to pick this up, it males a LOT of noise, but press the clutch in and it's smooth and quiet! A few dings and bangs but otherwise decent enough condition.
It's been sat for a while but it's not been forgotten, I am picking up a 2002 172 cup today, I only really want the wheels to be fair, but they come attached to a car. It has a broken gearbox so I'll just be breaking it, I'm not fussed about fixing it up.
I removed a reasonably small but relatively heavy chunk of metal last night. I sootted this had been removed in another build thread so thought I'd copy...
I do want a cage, just need to save a little money first. I'm want to try Teesside Autodrome, Croft (depending on the noise levels), and Elvington next year. Just want to have more fun in it.
Bus bar now almost sorted, need to get the plastic 'lid' to clip on properly but otherwise that's done.
Ill order the steel for the subframes during the week, just need to measure it all out and provide the dimensions as someone in my street is a sales rep so they can get it cheap and also cut...
Interior stripped from the rear, need to tidy it up a bit, might paint it all to keep it looking a little more prensentable as I think that will help a lot. I might go for anthracite to match the wheels etc, don't want to go too dark as it will be too hot on warm days.

Thinking of these with the AD08 tyres, although I'm waiting on a price of R888's from a local place.

I should say, the car has braided lines, Brembo HC discs, ebc pads (coming out soon) and some of those raceland coilovers (may swap them out for some better ones), and a Decent exhaust. Current tyres are decent but I want some 15's.
I've had my 172 for 4 years now and it's been a great car. It has been swapped between myself and my wife during that time and its been back with me for a while now. It has been reliable and most importantly, its fun to drive.
i have a bike to use for commuting and a 2005 EP3 CTR for when I...
Some good points there. There's nothing at all wrong with the flamer and I could end up buying a dog. I could sort most things but it's been easy motoring with the Flamer, so why spoil it.
Everyone knows what they look like but stolen RB pic taken from below thread.

There's no real lost interest, still like driving it I just like the RB. I don't mind starting again, as long as I find one in reasonable condition I can do everything it needs.
I like them relatively standard.
I've had my flamer for 3 and a half years and love it, but I have always like the RB 182's. I don't use the flamer much, it's in great condition and I personally think it's the best colour 172. I do however think the RB 182 is the best colour 182 (like the yellow, but not as much as the RB).
I...
My wife drives my 172 harder than I do, unfortunately she kerbs the wheels (a lot). Still though, the 172 wheels are cheaper and easier to hide the marks on than the 18's on her car.
Possibly (ok probably) too early at present, but any ideas on which circuits this will be at? I don't intend attending every race, but if it was on at Croft, i'd call down to watch.
I have a 172 and the wife has a Corsa VXR and the Corsa just seems too heavy. It's nice and feels quicker but doesn't seem to have much more pace than the Clio.
It has other plus points though and I'll probably have it when she is finished with it.
I was there too, but not in my Clio.
That 200 was just awesome, very well done (imo), I liked it so much, I let him out whilst waiting in the long queue to get out.......
