I quite liked the one I drove. Everything was a step up from my clio. However I didn't like the stupid feather-light steering or the noise it made! Sounded so bad, urgh. Plus it feels slow until you get above 7k rpm, that's not good :S Can't understand why people hate the looks so much...

Must have been something impressive under the bonnet then. Even the ones tuned to 200bhp aren't any quicker than standard RS clios.

This thread is months old! Managed 6.28 secs using a Gtech Pro, Gods know how accurate they are though.

Mine whistles too, not after 5k rpm though. Mine does it between about 1.5k-3k rpm, then the engine/exhaust noise starts to drown it out. The guy who did my last MOT told me what was causing it, but I can't remember what he said! Sounds good though, like a little supercharger.

I was expecting you to have actually managed 172mpg! 44.1 mpg isn't impressive at all. Easy to get 44mpg if you're steady :rasp: Had 52mpg from an 80 mile journey once.

They'd have to sort out that stupid feather-light power steering too. It's exactly the same as it is on my mum's damn micra! Rubbish. And sort out the engine note. Then yes. It does need a turbo though. The car is too heavy to rely on n/a torque.

I don't know about diesels but petrols certainly seem to produce extra power when the air temperature is lower.

I thought all UK-spec cars were required by law to be able to run on a minimum of 95 RON fuel? Or have those days long gone? :S

^^^ indeed. I was about to say, if you've lost power and are using more fuel, check your spark plugs. Same thing happened to me, one of the plugs had gone, change the plug, good as new.

Has the car lost power and is it using more fuel?
