First mistake is taking your car back to a main dealer, Why?? Use a Renault specialist non main dealer, will be half the price. For a backbox and a door solenoid you'd prolly be looking at 300 quid topside.
I think performance and running costs of owning a v6 should be further down the list of considerations than it would be for more "normal" cars, Fact is they are a future classic and one of the most unique cars you can buy. If your worrying about running costs just get a 182
the whole wiring (canbus) is different for the cabasse stereos. IMO they are a waste of time as you cant upgrade them as they are totally different to the normal ISO type connections on the standard stereos, if you wanted to upgrade to mp3 or anything you would need to rewire everything...
If you feel/look behind the bonnet pull you can see where the cable goes through, if you take your passenger side wheel off and remove the arch lining you can see the cable coming through to the engine bay that makes an easy route for a cable

Re some of the comments on tthe clio TT I think some people are missing the point arguing about cornering and blah blah. Its a clio with 400 odd...
I wish renault would make cars with a proper ride height, same problem on the megane its like a 4x4 ride height as standard. They do it so they can sell the same chassis setup to all the different countries really they should just sell the higher setups to the countrys that need it
it is a bit strange going from a 172 to a 1.2 even my GF complained about it when we had the 172 in on the various visits to the dealer. the 1.2 feels like a 172 with rubber bands attached to all the steering and peddle controls!
That said I drove a load of s**t cars before I had my 172 and...
