This is my 3rd clio (2 DCi's before this one) have had it on the road for 6 months, covered 13k and done 4 trackdays. Croft twice, Cadwell Park (Awesome track) and donnington park. I bought it as a mint condition standard example with FRSH and only 47k, I did plan to keep it standard but that...
Just seen this on pistonheads, seriously what a fool he has made of himself. As if he thought he could get away with it!

Why wouldn't it work? The circlip is held in by the casing so effectively all you are doing is replacing it with a bolted in ring. You wouldn't bolt the ring to the diff because that wouldn't support anything if you know what I mean. The thrust washer should still go between the ring and diff...
Not worth it, minimal gains! Your standard cat wont fit, you will need a 182 manifold to 172 exhaust conversion cat! It will cost £500 for the 182 manifold and cat!
You should be able to save around 96 kg with carbon pannels over the standard unchoped units!
Say your car is 190 bhp and 950 kg now
190 / 0.95= 200 bhp per ton
- the 96kg weight saving gained from the doors = 854
190 / 0.854= 222 per ton
Set of throttle bodys and cams= 210bhp
210/...
Very nice. As for mods, personally I wouldn't bother as there well sorted to start with and you will get very minimal gains. I'd personally just keep it in good tires (Always surprised at the amount of performance cars on crap tires) and get all the services done at Renault to keep the warranty...
Also one thing to bear in mind is James is using a coilover rear set up which gives a 1:1 leverage ratio, standard spring location gives a 2:1 leverage ratio so you will need to double the spring rate to give the same effective rate.
By moving the drop link into the front hole you are giving the bar less leverage thus giving it more anti roll effect. You have placed the mounting bracket at the correct angle as this matches the angle of the drop link allowing the bushes to sit flat.
If your going to do more than 5 trackdays a year there defiantly worth it, they have adjustable damping so you can fine tune the handling. Sportlines handle allot better than standard suspension, just too soft and don't offer any adjustment.
