Ok, so I decided to remove the vinyl wrap that's fitted on my 225 Trophy's bonnet. It's been on the car for the last 5 years as I knew the previous owner and remember when he had it done. I checked with him first that there was no damage under there or anything nasty I'd unveil and was assured...
The problem is I have is that I have the app itself but when you open it it says, 'Sorry, Cartoon HD is closed forver!'
Unless there's a new version to download?
That's my thinking. If someone ends up buying it cheap, with a bit of cosmetic love and a full on service it could be a minter. Just looks like it's been unloved.
It's not unfeasible for a garaged car to have only covered that kind of mileage but you'd expect the car to look either totally mint or easy to clean up.
Then again if this car has just sat around and been unloved that may explain the dinks and marks. Would be interested to see more of the...
I think you'll find that Built-Not-Bought.co.uk is my forum/Facebook group and car club that I run so I'm entitled to have that in my avatar and on the sticker on my car. Also, the car isn't standard so the car isn't how it left the factory, so it was built and not bought........just by someone...
Well I certainly recommend them. One of those cars, especially the phase I 225 that's very much underestimated.
I suspect mine may cost me a few quid over the years but I love it as well. :)
No clutch as yet or hub bearings as far as I'm aware.
Thing is because of the mileage I'm anticipating some of the things that would surface with a 60-80k car will cost me at some point.
Then again I'll hang onto it for a while I think :)
Thank you mate, it really was a good find.
Don't get me wrong, the Megane II is an electrically fragile model, no doubt about it. The auto wipers/lights are showing a fault and the drivers side window stopped at one point but was just a loose connection to the regulator.
Otherwise though...
Well my Clio 172 which I was using as my daily driver had become a bit impractical for me. It was huge amounts of fun but noisy and with a little lady that needs chauffeuring about in it, not really ideal.
Went on the hunt for something bigger, similarly quick and fun and another 225 just took...
I have now managed to fill the oil level up to maximum and taken the car for a 20 mile drive with a variety of mixed roads.
The car seems to be running fine, engine is pulling nicely but obviously I'll be keeping a close eye on the oil level.
One thing I (think) I noticed is that the exhaust...
Oh no it wasn't one journey, sorry if that was the impression gave.
This has probably been over the last 4 months or so as shamefully it's been about that long since I looked at the oil.
From what I'm understanding out of the 5 1/2(?) litres of oil the engine uses, the difference from maximum...
Well assuming that's the first time that message came up, it was running for 60-90 seconds maximum.
I'm usually pretty observant with the dashboard so I'm 99.99% sure that's the first time that message came up on the display.
Well I wasn't at home last night so I only had the chance to top up with 1 1/2 ltres which took it about 1/3 over the minimum marker.
If that makes sense. :)
Thanks Cub, looks like I may be giving them a shout.
One quick question, if (by some kind of miracle) it's not the Cams/re-map that's the problem and it may actually have leaked the oil, with it being this low would it definitely have damaged the engine?
Oh and also, if it was burning the...
Well I'm not sure how low it was but it was certainly low enough to worry me.
As for the package it was this one
http://www.k-tecracing.com/power_upgrades_package_details.asp?id=5
As you can see not cheap and I spent a fair whack with them considering I had a cambelt/dephaser replaced plus...
Thanks for the info guys. I may be getting in touch with K-tec at some point if I can't see any physical leaks which might cause the oil loss.
The only things that's strange is that the time scale from when the cams/remap were done is longer to the service than the time from the service when...
Ok, so I started my 172 today and got the 'check oil' warning on the dash, no light just that message on the screen.
Now I will admit that I haven't checked the oil level in the car for some time for various reasons I've not given it much thought but the car was serviced just before winter and...
Sorry I should of said, virtually the same spec but on a £2k car, do those two fairly minor difference make a big difference? As you say, locking wheel nuts, probably bought already and provided it's got the immobiliser the difference at this price range is negligible.
Wouldn't worry if it's an import as it's been made in the same factory as all the other 182s, should be the same spec as well. Likely that it's only even been driven in the UK anyway.
As for the front bumper, I had my one resprayed on my 172 as they covered the little black inserts too. That...
All of those models from the dealership have a part number and then they can order them in for you. The ones they keep in stock tend to just be random models that are out now.
I'd be surprised if I do too, my 172 is on 65k but I only do 5k a year in it so I'll probably sell it before the 100k mark.
Funny thing is 100k used to be deemed as a high mileage, now days it's fairly common and buying a well maintained car with that kind of mileage isn't a bad thing.
Not a Clio but my Megane 225 has sat for longer than 6 months at a time stored, only thing that needed doing was making sure the battery was properly charged. Started without hesitation.
Only thing I'd confirm is how it's been stored. The Megane is in a dry garage and covered up. I might be...
For me when I was learning to drive all my mates had either Ford Fiestas or Vauxhaul Novas, neither of which really did anything for me. I preferred the looks of the Clio (MKI) and because none of my mates had one I hunted down a nice little 1.2 Oasis which I loved.
Then that was it for me...
Seems to be working brilliantly on my iPad 3 and iPhone 5. Just downloaded Pacific Rim, World War Z and Battleship to my iPad.
Only thing a couple of the guys here complained of was that when their phone tried to perform a sync to iCloud it failed. I'm assuming because it backed up the Cartoon...
