You are too good mate, thanks alot. Do you happen to know which way up the head gasket goes? like red rubber seals to the block or to the head. Thanks mate much appreciated
the torque sequences for the head bolts, and the torques for the cam bolts and rockers. then the tollerances and possible the sequences for setting the rockers and valves like exhaust and inlet tollerances please.4
would be so helpful mate!
The torques required for the head bolts, camshaft, rockers etc. and a top set sheet with tolerances for a 1.2 8valve d7f engine as i've lost my data sheets. Which i got off autodata at college :(
Tall ask i know but would be much appreciated
Slow slow progress but today i removed the first small patch of rust on the sill, took a couple of pictures. dissapointed in the paint match as the pearl in the paint i bought is to dark. may consider having the 3 patches im doing painted professionally and blended in.
After Paint. The colour...
Haven't updated this in a little while, currently working on rebuilding the top half of the engine as i had noticed the rubber seals at the back of the block were weeping oil out the back. ( dammit ) any how i'll post pictures soon.
I've had the head of and that will be sent of to be skimmed...
sounds a bit like one or maybe of your calipers is sticking, when you but you're foot on the break can you feel juddering through the steering wheel? it will eventually stick solid open on one side you'll have no breaks and the other will lock up.
Hard to tell by just reading and not seeing...
Thats fair play mate? surely it wouldn't of costed 500 if you were doing cambelt and head gasket your self? i spent 120 on the parts for excluding consumables still working on it though
The engine is pretty slow to behonest, a tight set of tollerances on the valves and a new air filter etc. can only help :P it costs nothing so why not :)
Mines a d7f engine i think? 1.2 8valve.
But thats cool i'm only having it skimmed out of precaution. I was leaking oil from the oil galleries at the back of the head. :) thanks guys
as some may know, slowly im doing the head gasket on my 1.2 clio, i can't find a guide to for the cambelt and helpcover?
is the cover on dowels or something? Might sound stupid but i can't find anyother bolts to take off :s
Any help would be appreciated x
