    AWT Clio... 216bhp Video

Very interesting, thats quite an achievement for a valver - well done. Sounds crazy! From that 20mph rolling start it looks to hit 60 in around 6-and-a-half, and the ton in about 13 and it certainly goes round the speedo in pretty short order, especially over a ton where you cant disguise a lack...

My Retirement as CS Events Manager

Yeah, the memories come flooding back, the Southend Wimpys, my Clio 16v mini website - ended up teaching myself HTML so I could code it, but the weird thing is about Fred: it was only at FCS that I saw your hair LOL Im sure youve had that same hat on for several years now! Oh and a big sorry...

From today, I retire as Cliosport Events Manager / Admin. As one of the co-founders of Cliosport, I can bow out happy in the knowledge that we built a great club, made a lot of people happy, ran brilliant and unforgettable holidays every year, organised some wicked events and raised the profile...

Lots of FCS pics in this thread soon....

LOL thats why when we started I chose the forum name Nick Read - no confusion when you meet people! Quality pics - I only passengered with Jas and Lunner and for the record, Lunners driving was good and I was honestly surprised when we got out and I realised it was an RSi and not a valver, the...

    Yozza’s Blown Engine update

Well, comiserations to you mate, but you know, these things happen if you give your Clio a caning regularly, as I know all too well myself. Lets hope its not too soon before its running again.

11th fastest car on the sprint 11/ 160ish

Well it wouldnt be that bad - you could do all of that stuff and still have a streetable car - bring a jack with you so you can adjust your coilovers back to normal for the ride home, I just sold a pair of road-legal drag tyres which can be had in 205/50/15 so all youd need for that would be a...

    Yozza’s Blown Engine update

LOL well so much for NA power and reliability then ;)- but seriously, what was the cause - too much high rpm and an unbalanced bottom end? Not that I know a great deal about these things mind. All I remember is you cruising to a halt on the grass with white smoke pouring out the back, then...

11th fastest car on the sprint 11/ 160ish

If you want to sort out your sprint times Mike, heres a few ideas: Run coilovers. Drop the front fairly close to the ground and the back right up in the air. Rear dampers set rock hard, fronts fairly soft. You need to run nose down to minimise squat when you launch. Put a set of drag radials...

    Williams running costs

Ive not owned either, but having owned a valver and knowing a bit about both, Id say that swapping for a Willy is NOT going to reduce your outgoings at all. If anything it might end up costing you more. I doubt the fuel economy is better, in fact a Willy is probably more thirsty cos its old...

    static shock

LOL I thought it was just me who gets out of my car and either kicks the door shut or flinches when having to close it with my hand. I keep getting real belts off it. Seems to be cold, dry weather when I get it the worst. Never when its raining or damp. but is it static from the car grounding...

    Evo Magazine

Its variable I think. I do subscribe, but there was a time a year or two ago when it seemed to go through a patch, where virtually every article sounded like a bunch of overpaid public-school boys on a jolly outing in their dads expensive motors. I didnt like, and still dont like, the habit they...

    courier for wheels

Standard parcel service at the post office will take up to 20kg for about £12. Thats basically gonna do a pair of alloys as long as theyre not too heavy or big. best 0-60 sprint

LOL sorry to rain on anyones parade but for the benefit of those who didnt know, it was a timing error... Ive done a 0-60 in 5.57 on 17s with my Clio running around 210bhp when it wasnt in great tune last year, on low boost while waiting for a new chip. My gut feeling is that in a fwd Clio...

    Valver lower strut brace

Yeah I remember something on another thread about this, a Sparco lower strut brace but apparently Sparco dont even make them. The only place you can get one of these things is Strutbracer... Supposedly they attach to the bottom of the suspension somewhere, but I dont know where.

    Apexi fuel controller...for 172/182

I wouldnt bother. There might be some very slight improvements to be had by remapping the fuelling and ignition for a performance rather than economy/emissions bias, but that means a Renault specialist spending some time working on it. I dont think a controller than feeds false signals to the...

    FAO: bmc IK owners

My BMC CDA was a superb filter. I can assure you, Ive tried everything going and it was the best by a very long way. Obviously it stands or falls by how good a cold air feed you get to it though. If by IK you mean an open induction kit rather than a CDA airbox, then Id not bother to be honest...

    Cup racer 0-100 in 10.5

Dont know much about the Cup racers but if 190 bhp and 900kg is right (211 bhp/tonne) then its not that outrageous that it can run 0-100 in 10.5. After all, I would imagine they are built with short ratios and final drive so they are biased towards acceleration rather than top speed. Unlike a...

    Police Interest in LED Sidelights

Really? I was certain that blue sidelights were a big no no. Very cool, but totally illegal. Ive had PIAA blue LED sidelights for quite a while and they are most definitely very blue. No way you can mistake them. The white ones are quality though, really proper white.
