LOL you bunch of clowns. Heres my take on it -
285 or a top whack figure of 297 sounds a lot for that kind of lump and perhaps questionable when compared against the one figure that matters, the power at the wheels. But it certainly IS possible. I cant say for sure what the power figures are...
Good work, glad the figures are working out...now quarter mile it! I want to know if youre gonna take my record.;)
It sounds like its gonna be quick though. Glad theres someone else in the superfast Clio club. I was chuckling at what you were saying about racing Scoobies etc...once youre...
Ive used Flux for the last 6 years. My Clio Turbo is currently insured, ALL mods declared, fully comp for £700 a year. Liverpool Victoria are the ones that are supposed to be good for mods and problem cases...well they insured my dad and he crashes 2 or 3 times a year LOL
The pecking order of respected venues to put in a quarter mile time are:
1. Santa Pod
2. York or Shakespeare County
3. North Weald or Crail
If you want a time that no-one will argue, do it at the Pod. Clock in at York or Shakespeare/Avon Park and someone will say they are quicker times...
Yeah the RUF Yellowbird is a classic, but that M3 GTR vid is the ultimate. Id never seen it before last week when someone posted up the link, it is just the most mental lap Ive ever seen, like a video on fast forward or something. A lot of videod laps you think yeah yeah with enough practice and...
Probably 950kg, around 210 bhp with the boost turned down (engine bay maintenance impending!), 1st and 2nd gear used. Bury as in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
I was just trawling through my video folder on the computer and dug this out... a video of one of my 0-60 runs at Donny South 2004 (North Weald airfield). It was an average run at 5.7 seconds, so not the quickest pass I did (which was 5.57) but not too shabby considering its front wheel drive...
Well mines just sailed through so I can speak from experience.
Either have the seats and the belts in the rear - or dont. Making your car a two seater is fine.
Harnesses dont have to be original but they must be secure, so that basically means if you use the proper mounting points for your...
Oh and btw 16vClio Id say that a difference of 1.1 seconds over the 0-60 is a pretty big gap - a car that does it in 5 is a lot faster than one that does it in 6. In terms of 0-100 that opens out to 3 seconds at least.
Perhaps the V6 IS a supercar and youre talking it down Simon? The fact that everyone on here owns different Clios and likes different Clios is surely a given, hardly even worth debating.
What does supercar actually mean? Well, most accepted supercars have an unusual engine location for a road...
Interesting...perhaps youve never considered that the whole reason why people fit bodykits, spoilers etc, is that they are trying to emulate a race car look, however naff that may end up being on a 1.1 Metro?
Im not saying that its ok to put corner splitters, a huge set of quad tailpipes and...
Got K30 0ST which is spaced K 30OST, and the 3 very slightly extended so it says K B0OST which I think is pretty appropriate for a turbocharged motor. I tend to think having your own name is a bit naff, unless its a real old plate and you have a short name that is actually properly spelt out...
Excellent news, keep up the good work. James G was asking me about my next outing to Santa Pod...Ill leave it until after we get back from the Ring; who knows what could be broken, but assuming its all ok, sometime around the end of April/beginning of May Ill be up for some quarter miling if you...
I used to have my GPS aerial on the sunroof frame underneath the glass, no problems there. If Id have got round to it I would have put the detector part in the front grille, thats what its designed for.
Well there you go then :D
I know theres always a lot of banter on here about using this and using that, but at the end of the day an oil has one job to do - keep your engine lubricated under all conditions. And if it drains out almost as clean as it goes in, doesnt sludge, and the engine works...
What about welding together an A frame with a big castor on the back, and then getting rid of the whole car rear of the front seat. Then just roll along with the front wheels doing all the pulling?
Ive always used Mobil 1 Motorsport (15w50) for the last six years on my valver -when it was standard, modded with head work, on nitrous and now turbocharged. So the engines been apart a few times and it runs pretty hot at times too - Ive never had any trouble with 15w50, its always done its job...
S6R Neo. Works very well and gives you full coverage, laser, radar and GPS, but its a lot of wiring, even if you hardwire it in like I did, the GPS aerial only really picks up if you place it under the sunroof glass. But the main problem is that the display is shockingly bad - it uses crappy LCD...
If youre just pulling stuff off so youve got a totally stripped interior with only the basics, then you could probably get it down to 850kg without a full tank of fuel. If you wanted to go one better you could think about replacing everything with carbon fibre, using perspex instead of glass in...
OK lets see it running if anyone can host it...1/4 mile times would be even better.
BTW I was talking to some RTOC boys yesterday at the Pod, and apparently a mate of theirs bought the mythical 4wd Cossie Clio that was in Max Power quite a while ago. Anyway, apparently he never runs it and it...
The way I work it is this (I fettle ride height on mine quite often depending on the sort of driving Im going to be doing): The Shoe Test...
If I can get my whole shoe under the front bumper then its normal ride height. If it catches on the laces, then its pretty low. If I can only get my toes...
I used to always have problem picking up satellites with my Snooper S6R Neo. Front or rear windscreens were a dead loss. Best place I found was in the sunroof. All I did was run the wiring inside the roof lining and the aerial popped out near the sunroof frame. The aerial was magnetic, so I just...
