Water is not circulating your engine and radiator. Hot water circulates from the Thermostat bolted on the the gearbox end of the engine along the top hose, into the rad. out through the bottom hose and into the water pump then around the engine. A second cct. comes off the bottom hose and goes...
The bottom hose is big, it connects the thermostat , rad. heater hoses and water pump all in one piece. Would be better to buy a set of Samcos for the same money. The Rad can be bought at www.coolparts.com . Mine is non A/C not sure of yours though.
I wouldnt worry if it is the radiator, they only cost £62 for a new one. The bottom hose spider is an awful lot more, £180 If I remember. The emissions test failure will be be harder to diagnose whats wrong.
As I have had a flashing Emissions light blinking intermitantly and what seems to be a misfire on idle only recently, I thought I'll have scan and found the following------
3504 Fuel Evaporation regen. valve malfunction open cct./short cct.
3506 Fuel Evaporation regen. valve malfunction...
I would assume that the standard fluid is Dot4 so yes you can top up with CR dot4. CR4 is probably the the best and longest lasting Dot fluid. You shouldnt mix different dot no's though.
Years ago they used to be crap, but now they have got their act together and producing some quality products but I have to say no one on Cliosport has mentioned them. Other forums have said they are ok now.
To me this looks like an inlet pulley stuck on the end off the camshaft, except the centre is made of some kind of plastic. Is there some sort of mechanism or clutch inside that varies the VVT. Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong pulley.
Forget the above^^^^^ The only way is to change the plate around the throttle opening which includes the coil mounting or helicoil it. Just had my plenum cover of to change the plugs.
There is about a 10mm. gap at the bottom off the hole so drill down gently until the drill breaks through into that narrow void, the rocker cover is below so don't drill to hard. Getting a nut in there is tight, haven't tried it myself. If you look at the lefthand side, bottom of the plenum...
The head size is 10mm. You can go up to 50mm. long, and there is an opening at the bottom so you can blow out the debris if you decide to re-thread it.
Definitely the VRS now, between 10 and 12 morning and coming back a couple hours later. You can't miss it's black and beautiful. reg no xxxMPH and I'l put me hazards on for you through the town.
I have exactly the same bolt as you stripped. It won't be the bolt that is stripped it is the hole thread that is stripped as the coil mounting alloy is softer than the bolt material. You can fit a longer 10mm bolt to catch the the thread further down the hole and use threadlock so vibration...
