i might be wrong, but i'd be suprised if a renault dealer agreed to time up aftermarket cams, have you got any paperwork to do with that? what kind of mpg have you been getting from it?

can you get in touch with the previous owner or do you know where the cams were fitted? the only reason i'm saying that is that a lot of cams will only run correctly on standalone management. i've no idea at all about how to chect the timing though.....

have you tried calling speedline direct? i think d4ve had a set for sale not long ago too?

the most important thing to find out is which cams are in the car. i think that if there is any overlap in the timing the standard ecu will struggle to cope. like fred says, have the timing checked too. as for cost, give paul a call at rs tuning, he'll sort you out.

ah, sorry. i was assuming you have a ph2? if you have a ph1 you will need a box with the speedo takeoff. if you have a ph2 i've no idea what is going on!!

the ph1 and the cup use a speed sensor on the gearbox, the other 1*2's use the abs for the speedo sensor. all you would need to do is fit the box, the speedo will work as before.

it's certainly not something that seems to get mentioned on here as a common fault. do you have a link to an advert or a reg plate? someone here might know more about the car.

could be a damaged lambda, do you know anyone to borrow one off and try swapping? also if your engine is running that rich you need to use it as little as possible, you could strip the oil from the bores! the best thing to do is have it plugged in to a diagnostic machine though.

i had a set of these a long time ago. they were ok, very crashy on the road but better on track. however, the rear springs collapsed twice (i think they now use a different spring) and before long all of the plating had rusted off! considering that they are over £800 now i would be looking...

i'm interested to know this too. if you're engine is in bits then why not? does anyone have any idea of the cost of the uprated ones?
