Thanks Gally :)
I did a Meg 250 yesterday which I've posted up, an R26 in white on Saturday, but that was just a "hand job".
I've got some nice cars coming up in the next few weeks, so plenty of write ups to come...
Re: photograpginh swirls
Are you on about in general, or on your LY 182?
I find LY one of the most difficult colours to capture photos of swirls on. It's a VERY good colour at hiding them too, yet still looks stunning (unlike something boring like my Silver car, lol!).
You need an...
Thanks Dawn :)
Hi todd100, I use a rotary, it would be difficult to achieve that level of correction on VW paint in 4-5 hours, with a DA.
I have a Chicago Pneumatic CP8210 with Gloss It backing plates.
Russ.
The aim for this car, was to improve its appearance as much as possible with a day (7-8 hours or so), with a view to correcting as many of the defects and swirling as possible.
The car itself was a Mk5 Golf R32 is the stunning Deep Pearl Blue colour.
Here is the car after I shortly arrived...
Today saw me return to Birmingham to give this stunning Megane 250 (which I'd done previously in 2010), some love after winter.
It's probably one of the heaviest modified 250's out there right now, with Eibach's, FMIC, Remap, Decat and Milltek amongst other mods on it already.
Right then...
476S is more durable than 845, but I hate using it so tend to opt for 845.
Two layers of 845 will easily see you through Winter anyway, you are talking 5 months, rather than 6... put it on your wheels too :)
Wednesday saw me near Redditch to give some love to this lovely RenaultSport Clio 200 Cup, in the stunning Storm Grey colour!
The car itself was a few weeks old, but the 'dealer prep' left a lot to be desired and the car was already quite swirly, and covered in industrial fallout and tar...
Today saw me travel to a (luckily!) Sunny Stoke for an Enhancement Detail on this rather lovely Jaguar XK8 (4.2 litres of V8 goodness!)
The car itself was in superb condition generally, but was covered in tree sap, particularly on the roof, and needed a general tidy up/cleanse.
Some...

Russ.
Today saw me spend 5 hours giving my mates Mini Cooper S GP a thorough cleanse ready for Winter, and getting some protection on it.
I'd actually never seen a GP in the flesh before - what a car!! It's magnificent to look at and work on, and the spoiler in particular looks the part. I also...
Thanks Steve.
Yeah it seems so depreciation wise. I really should have paid a bit more for a white one with Lux pack. Oh well, you live and learn!
I have a few friends who buy cars from various manufacturers on 'friends and family' who face no depreciation - must be great!
Let down??
I'm really sorry that I couldn't make that weekend but my Megane was off the road as it wouldn't start!
I know you pm'd me back but I didn't get it because my inbox was full, so I pm'd you telling you this and heard nothing back?
I got £9200 for my 07 plate, 4 owner, 37k R27 in March - looks like I moved it at the right time!
Paid £11k for it on 18k miles, and kept it 12 months. I don't mind taking that small hit, given the mileage I did.
Also, if you think it's bad now, wait until it drops out of warranty in 2011...
