you can but its technology and development that costs a lot more than you'll get in normal roadcars for years. Ferraris and the like enjoy the whole package but for over 100 grand you expect it to.
yeah I have a yahoo account which has a great spam filter but if you use outlook it doesnt filter all the cack out, I have two other email addresses I use too so I really need to use a client
dododo dum dum dum another one bites the dust....:( not doing your insurance premiums much good is it. Nobodu believes me when I say 225 insurance is cheaper than 172 despite the higher insurance group, this is why!
RIP for a lovely car tho :(
^^ That yellow one is what they should have done instead of the 182, it looks like its properly designed whearas the 182 exhausts are a bit of a friday five to five idea. I rekon the last clio with those megane type bumpers would have been superb, but they probably didnt do it as it would look...
west end garage at headingley leeds are good, they are an ex renault service garage but wont charge anything like renaults prices for servicing. My 225 is £100+vat against a ludicrous £200 for renault to do the same work (if they actually do it!)
only thing you'll need to find out is if the ecu has an airflow meter but I think that engine will have one, loads of dump valves are available, best one is an SSQV which gives a nice chirp rather than a normal pssssh sound, I can sort you out with one of those if you want one, would need an...
I'd say its par for the course m8! Lady takes in car all of a sudden it needs loads of work. IF its supposed to be warranty work I'd be intrested to see what their explanation was on how an air filter and backbox affect the head gasket!
One thing that might intrest you guys that a re a bit far away from Leeds Paul will be coming to some car shows next year and he can do the chipping while you wait. FCS is a definite for this maybe donny in april and probably Trax
^^ Thats the rolling road BTW not the tuner, it will deffo still be available next year. Paul the guy who runs RS Tuning mainly does VAG stuff and deisels but as he's just got a 225 trophy he's started doing the reanults now
just finished watching it, really good feature actually, just goes to show how that mk1 172 was pretty much responsible for benchmarking hot hatches these days
Honest opionion here even though I have a 225 lol. The 225 full fat is about as quick as a p2 172 full fat although the 172 and 225 I have had my 225 is half a second quicker over the 1/4 mile (standard) The full fat 225 has been panned by EVO for not being hardcore enough which is fair play but...
As ben says its a superchips type remap not a full ECU change like the R Sport or Dastek piggyback. The Renault CLIP cannot detect the chip as it doesnt read the fuel and timing maps. It might be possible for some renault boffins to spot it if there were ever a major investigation on your car...
As detailed in a previous post a m8 of mine who runs an ECU tuning outfit in Leeds has a new chip for the 172 giving 5BHP and 12lbft of torque. The map was fitted to Len Beach's 172 and reaction from Ben on the remap can be seen on the original post I put up...
I remember when the euro look was big with VWs, they look awsome but to do it right you have to have concrete suspension and car will prolly end up illegaly as the tyres protrude from the arches
its worth mentioning that the cars tested to day were run on the same rollers on the same car with and without the remaps, you cant get any more accurate than that.
