if your plannig on lowering it, good luck with insurance..... and you have too many doors :rasp:
but it looks tidy mate, should look good when youve got the bodywork on it
basicly, fitted coilovers and then about a month later when i took the front wheels off for something else i found both front tires where completely worn down to the chords on the inside 2inches or so of the tire.
had new tires fitted and went to ho have the tracking done and he noticed the...
exactly, there well worth it. fully adjustable suspension for basicly a few quid more than expensive springs. racelands are like £170 on ebay arent they ? bargain
ive heard a few horror stories of halfords paint but then a lot of other people use it now problem so im in two minds about whether to use it.
wanted to colour code by side strips pearl black. the pre-made renault black they have on the shelves is pearl black isnt it ? in their colour book it...
well you would notice a 40mm drop, but it proabbly just wont be enough to mak the wheels fill hte arches so youll want to go lower. im on coiloivers and its about 60-70mm drop and its sat perfect
um it really depends on the colour, the ones they have in stock ( most common colours) are pretty good to be fair. its the sport colours which are a bit fancy and have multiple shades that there s**t at doing. you could always get everything you need from halfrauds but just get the paint cans...
decent springs arent far off second hand coilover price anyway really. you options are buy cheap springs and have a horrible ride, buy expensive spring and it not lower much. or replace the shocks aswell as the springs, or buy second hand or cheap coilovers lol
where the hell are you ordering from ? there like £48 or £50 each for 15inch ones here.
on another note, do they have toyo proxes ? had a set of them and i was pretty impressed
oh and one other thing... the new engine would have lower millage, so would i have the clocks adjusted to match the engine? and what about the paperwork side of things?
cheers micKPM, thats put me off that then, was just an idea anyway. if i was simply to put a better condition 1.2 engine mine it would be a straight swap though wouldnt it?
Dci isnt a bad idea, will look into it. as for a 172 it really isnt an option it puts my insurance up by like £1500-2000. i was just thinking as the engine will most likely need changing this year what would be needed to just put the 1.4 engine in as its not a huge difference on the insurance
i think my 1.2 engine is coming to the end of its life so will probably need replacing sometime this year. i could get another 1.2 engine and do a straight swap but given insurance prices on larger engine cars i was considering putting the 1.4 or 1.6 engine in if possible. meaning i could keep...
do it yourself mate, can get everything from halfrauds. about £50 for sandpaper, 2 primers, 2 paints and 2 laquers. may not need that exact amount but yeah....
colour code and lower is 100% must mate, i lowered my car on coilovers and it handles sooooo much better, feels far more planted on the road, corners better and tbh i prefer the ride to the standard floaty rolling ride. brake drums you can do for like £6 with a pot of hammerite from B and Q...
