    Oil breather with ITBs

Just stick a later strainer on which doesn't have the vent in it for the CC. They're pence to get hold of! Cheers M

    f4R engine

Could do a C/F one fairly easily which'd save some weight........ you wouldn't want to pay what it'd cost though and you'd be disapointed it wasn't shiny bling bling carbon! ;-) Cheers M

    Oil breather with ITBs

Just leave it open as its the CC breather not the crank case breather. Or chuck a later strainer plate on top which doesn't have the CC return on it then route the breather on the back of the plate to a catch can or run a line off it to the inner wing and vent it there. Cheers M

Whats the rev limit on the 172 maps on the rs tuner?

7800RPM rev limit is useless on a standard engine. It's way over the point of peak power and all you are doing is making noise and reducing engine life. The standard cams make no power past 7K'ish. If you have an engine with 428's in it and ARP big end fasteners then 7800RPM is about right in...

    172 throttle body

New ones can be sourced from R-Sport for less than the dealer price (assuming nothing has changed). The X85 Clio Cup uses the Ph1 cable throttle body. Cheers M

    Super Cup Update

Soon as the results are in they'll be a full post about it with more detail than you could ever want ;-) If you ask me really nicely I might even take you for a spin at FCS. Cheers M

    Super Cup Update

First point - this thread was about my Clio and has morphed into a thread about the manifold kit. We purposely didn't want to release anything more than "We're doing this and it should be done about this date" but the demand/interest in it seems to be massive and as such this thread has grown...

    ELM 327 in the NW

Oh and Kev thats a shite one. There is a much more reasonable version that has the OBD2 connector moulded as part of the case. They're pretty damn bomb proof and reliable compared to most and only about a tenner more. Cheers M

    ELM 327 in the NW

Bit more than that. It's an OBD2 interface to read engine data and ECU adaptions etc. from the OBD2 interface. Kev - 40 quid off the bay of doom. Cheers M

    Super Cup Update

Well! I've booked time on the testing grounds today to rack the first 1000 miles onto it which gives some idea of where we are in terms of development. PM me if you want to discuss further :-) Cheers M

    Turbocharger or Supercharger??

Sequential fuel injection is available on even the s**test cheapest ECU's these days. My point was the Sirius can estimate where in 720 degree rotation the engine is with sufficent accuracy to run sequential injection with only a crank position reference. Very, very few ECU's can do that. We can...

    Turbocharger or Supercharger??

Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. What you are refering to is related to the standard calibration, the hardware running that calibration is extremely good and has some very advanced functionality. Have a look how many aftermarket ECU's support a torque based calibration or are capable of...

    172 - Underbonnet insulation

On a track car you'd tend to remove it as its one less thing to burn in the event of an engine fire.... Cheers M

    Oil Pressure Gauge

Well don't buy cheap ones then! I've never had an issue with them and have used them on everything from Nobles to Novas for oil cooler take offs and temp/pressure take offs. Cheers M

    Super Cup Update

On the low volume OEM production cars I've worked on developing we always found the best way was to stick em rads first to the wall and jack the throttle to 4000RPM on a hot day. If it didn't overheat after 24hrs then it was probably fine................. the seven that went to the UAE certainly...

    Oil Pressure Gauge

I did. It's the blue plate under the oil filter in the above pic. Just a default off the shelf one. Nothing special or hard to source. Cheers M

Or just chuck a sandwich plate take off on. Makes it easier to change the filter as well :-) Cheers M

    Super Cup Update

Worth noting that the general design of the Clio cooling system hasn't changed since the early 90's! There is no issue regarding cooling. The fan shroud itself covers a large amount of surface area in order to duct air mass through the entire core when the fan is running. You can put what you...

    Super Cup Update

I'll give it a run on the standard Cal in mine with the wideband on and see what we think. Chances are you'll be able to drive at low throttle openings no problem at all but no promises! Cheers M

    Toyo Proxe PX4

I quite like the PX4's, they are my road type of choice for fairly light stuff like the Clio. Mine runs on them. Cheers M

    down on power?

They'll be less than 20bhp difference between your car and his. That equates to very little in the real world. Cheers M

help with gauges (oil pressure etc)

The basic Stack gauges are good for the money, the stack Data and Dash stuff is getting a bit long in the tooth now though. Just man up and buy one of these: Might seem expensive but if you are going to realisticaly need to buy a Speedo, Tach, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp and Fuel...

Renault phs1 rev counter with omex

What do you mean by Coding? The Omex has no CANBus so if it requires a CAN input to the dash cluster this isn't going to happen, ever. You need to bear in mind that you need the Renault CAN protocol as well for the dash to understand whats coming into it. What you may be able to do is pull a...

help with gauges (oil pressure etc)

Electrical sensors are far prefereable as you don't need to run hot oil into the cabin. Idealy you want some form of data logging on them as well as logging oil pressure is extremely useful. Good solution are the SPA dual gauges. They aren't really that expensive and use decent and accurate...
