You sure it does actually need rear pads cos various dealers nearly always tell me they need doing every time it goes in and they dont. Rear pads are only about 5-7mm thick or something when new. Have a look how much you have left.
Philip I used to have a BMC kit on my old 172 and the one I had was longer than the viper hmmm
Just dont drive through anything deeper than the bottom grill is my plan hehe
With the viper I got a spray can of oil stuff to spray the filter with before use. Anyone know how much...
Cheers Steve Ill give him a bell.
Neil yeah I knocked my bike over into the car oops dented and scratched door and someone thumped ks boot and put a dent in it :(
What happened to yours?
Fitted my Viper yesterday and routed the cold feed pipe pretty much straight down to behind the bottom grill. Ill take some pics tonight if you want (and if I remember :D)

I do about 40k a year and I dont either. Dont get to "race" very often at myself either for the mileage I do.
Ok I drive the Astra usually 4 days a week now but I used to drive my old 172 every day.
I came up behind a vtr rather fast ( well not that fast but quite a bit faster than him ) in the outside lane of a dual carriageway tonight. Nothing in front of him and he slammed the brakes on
Ive raced my boss in his S2000 and there wasnt really anything in it. I inched up on him once but other than that dead even. Ive raced 3 CTRs and mine was slightly faster every time.
I used to have a 172 Mk1 and now have a cup. Basically its like you probably expect from what you would have read about it. Bit faster than a 172, handles a bit better but without the luxuries. Mpg is the same as a 172 in my experience.
I am planing to pass it straight down and sit it behind the bottom grill (well mesh on mine actually) facing forward. Until I can find a suitable big scoop to put on the end anyway to gather more air.
