    AST thread size

    Dam there goes that plan will just need to chase up AST or worst case get busy on the lathe at work. I would of thought something like a spring seat should of been a on the shelf service part.

    yes i need to know the thread size on the bottom of the shock to get a replacement spring cup. It will be either 2.25" or 2.5" , but could also do with the TPI (threads per inch ). Basically trying to see if the likes of this will fit on the AST thread...

    As above I just had my gripper box rebuilt and was advised to pick an oil that protects the box rather than one that protects the diff. B737 destroyed my syncros in a short time , so no just went for a good quality 75/90. I was also told not to use a shockproof oil as the additives in them can...

    Not good to hear Russ but looks like you have got the removal down to a fine art . Have you used the car much since replacing the bearing in the PMS shifter ? Im still not happy with mine but not sure if better to change all the bearings or just the main stick one .

    Can't wait to see what power this makes , like the out of the norm thinking that's went into it. I would love a new car loom with just the basics, already have omex engine loom and eventually want to go with a dash2. But still want to bin the standard Ecu and control unit.

    Done two track days this week , Monday which was a wash out and last night that was perfect weather . The change of 5th gear ratio has made a massive difference , as I'm now using 5th at 2 points on knockhill.

    Going by the calls I have mark at 7500 I'm topping out at 123mph so pushing to 8000 should see 131 mph if you are on a 195/50/15 tyre.

    Went for the 33/37, will be interesting to see if I end up using it on track or if upping the limiter a little to 7750rpm and holding 4th will be quicker.

    Gearbox is back in with new 5th, 3rd syncros , shorter 5th ratio and re built diff. Hope to get alignment done on Monday. I'm book on track on wed but if I get alignment done I will book Monday night aswell.

    Gripper lsd/gearbox rebuild

    I was told to run a oil suited to the box rather than the diff , as a diff running on the wrong oil will last longer than a box on the wrong oil.

    It's normally lady bank I use aswell. The box is now built hope to get it fitted on Friday , I'm booked on for the TS night on wed and might also book up for the mon night if I can get alignment done on sat/mon

    Cheap and easy upgrade for the rubbers is standard ones filled with Sikaflex. Where did you get your alignment done Craig ?

    Picked up a cheap spare centre console this week and had it painted yesterday so that is the interior now finished , unless i can pick up a cheap GT2/GT3 rear carpet.

    Having a bit of a nightmare with the rebuild , the gearbox shop noticed a crack in my outer casing and had issues trying to source the correct casing. I'm hoping to have the box back soon , they didn't find anything obvious with the diff but have re plated it and checked preload.

    I got my fiber glass tailgate fitted and painted today , only a small saving in weight over my gutted standard part but every little helps. With the passenger seat removed and my lighter wheels I would think the car should now weigh 900kg with fluids.
