Looks like i won't be making it on Fri Craig , ended up having to take the gearbox out my car tonight :( . Will probably still fire up for a while in the Porsche to watch.
I do have a spare standard box I could put in but alot of messing about for one track day, would rather hold off and get the gripper box checked/rebuilt.
Fraser is coming along tonight to give me a hand pulling the box out.
Its locking a wheel even at 10mph as soon as the wheel is turned, not just clunking its almost stopping the car.
Ive ran gripper diffs before in my cosworths but they are separate diffs not in a gearbox. I have done a track day with this box fitted and it wasn't too noisy before, last night it...
Looks like the track day on Friday will have to be cancelled , took the car for a quick test last night after fitting the suspension and changing the box oil and sounds like something has f@&ked up with the diff.
Who is best to use for a box rebuild ? If i send the box to Agency Trans will...
These should add a bit of contrast to the green :)
The rear end now sits about 20mm lower than before more like cup car ride height, but the suspension was set up by Mark Fish on Porkies car so looking forward to trying it out . Im now also switching to AST top mounts assisting camber and caster.
Sorry Mark I thought it was larger it is actually a 13 row not a 19 Im not overly happy with the hose run still.
Yozza on not sure if i will need a map tweak or not as went from 2.25 to 2.5 " , Im still running a sports cat so would think that would be the main restriction in flow.
I had to...
Will get one tomorrow , it's a 19 mocal cooler kit, I'm not running a thermostat justnow but as it's a track only car shouldn't have a problem. I still need to get some spira wrap for the hoses to avoid any rubbing.
Got my roof scoop fitted today along with an oil cooler . Was a bit worried about drilling into the roof as its had filler after the bonnet came up but all went well.
Going to pick up a Yozza just now and get the oils suspension off as hopefully the AST's should be here tomorrow.
What engine Fraser your old one rebuilt or did you end up using cams and parts from the cup engine?
Your always going to have some tension on the camshaft as it is compressing valve springs but sounds like you have more than normal.
Is that a knock hill thing on the 3rd ? is it a static show during the day ?
I will get booked up for that as i'm not home until the 23rd so will miss everything up until then.
So sad to hear this I cant imagine how you must be feeling now :(
To have a car away for a year to get built and then get it back with running problems, Im dam sure I would not be paying for the rebuild. Was the engine build an mapping done as a package deal or did you take it to two different...
Looks good Craig I seen the pics on Barrys fb page, think im going to do something similar as the rare bit of Knockhill sun can be a nightmare.
Whats on 3rd April ??
Not much happened to the car in the last month as been away with work but , home soon and have collected some parts
A roof scoop thanks to BigAsh
AST coilovers thanks to Porkie
Also have a FG tailgate to fit and maybe a Yozza race exhust, as ive always hated the one on my car and its a heavy...

I recently had the car in at MV Turbos a local garage to me (the owner has a 996 GT2) for a Durametric data log and alignment.
After fitting the plenum I wanted to check the fueling was still safe, which it is still running 1.1 bar.
John the owner took a few pics while it was in for his...
Thanks a lot :tongueout:
It had its first track outing last week in the new colour, have to say the gripper diff has made a massive difference to the car.
Im on Omex so will only take a second to raise the limiter, when we originally mapped the engine we did take it to 8000rpm but the power/cams died after 7500 so we set the limiter there. The head has one piece valves and cat cam springs so should be safe enough at 7800 for limited time.
