Making one is the way to go. I have just made one for mine or you could say repaired one as the one i bought cheap was no where near a fit 3'' to short. Is all the 172 de cat the same size?.
Yeah i am making one of them just now as well. So am i right the aluminium plate just sits on top of the oval pipe?.
Has anyone got any good pictures of there set up?.
As some of you might have seen I am building my own inlet. I am looking to fabricate a coil pack bracket similar to the ones used on the Itb kits. My questions are what do you seal the oval breather with when you fit the aluminium brackets?
Also do any of you guys have any good pictures of...
Put the car away for winter today so the manifold can be done. Also fixed the starting problem. Was good to have a drive in it as its the first it been moved in a month.
On it's bed for the winter.
Also sat the inlet on just to check for space and to size up.
I am looking as well. There is alloy polo rads on eBay but they £270 which is steep. Also alloy cores which you can buy to fabricate your own. Has it just been the polo rad used before???
Cheers mate. The rs was nice 300bhp it went well. But after 5 years of owning it i had only done 16000miles so i thought i would let it go. First guy who seen it bought it within a week of being on net.
Not sorted anything about mapping yet. Don't think i will really need a aftermarket ecu just...
You have got to try. This is something really of a hobby so no pressure just got to hope for good results.
All these cars are very similar so little things like the manifold makes it your own.
Just going to see how it ends up. I have a decat and shortshift sitting here ready to go on. Hope to get a cage into it in the future and strip it out. All just depends on how much time I get to spend on it.
Hi guys after a year of ownership i thought i would post something about my car. i sold my focus rs due to lack of use and bought the clio which i planned to use more never happened.
The clio which was nice and cheap
The clio came with
viper filter (now off)
stealth exhaust
cams
uprated...
2" would be fine mate. Any bigger and you will have trouble routing the pipe work. Get one of the coolers on eBay that fits the space you have. I will send you pic of the one I fitted to my rs.
Looks easy to make give me a drawing i will knock one up. I would be tempted to use a 6mm alu for it keeping it light i have made a few before there is not that much to them.
How much did you guys get it lightened by? Do have some big plans for this motor but it at an early stage just now and iiam looking at getting this done so it's ready to go on.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Na not this week mate. Looking at later in the year once its all mapped would like to try and do it right. Are you going?? Is there any sprint days local i quite fancy them?
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I ant all in to the computer stuff as well but its ment to be easy.
Manifold looking good got the injector bosses sorted out just waiting to get a chance to get up to the metal supermarket for some more alloy plate. Got buckets seats going in tomorrow and proper mounts...
I have a spare flywheel here and i am looking at getting this lightened has anyone had any experience of doing this.
where did you get it done??
How much did you take off it ??
Has any one had it done at there local machine shop??
I miss my foc rs but as you can see once you get them home they spend more time under a cover to keep them clean. Now the clio lies in the street and used.
Great pictures.
i have went for the omp. Will try them with my side mounts looking at having it a fixed mounted to see how it goes. Has any one tried the omp??
Thanks for the replys guys the one you have do look good but i am trying to do these cheap as i am unsure how if change back for road use.
Maybe I picked it wrong but as I see it people run very near the limit at peak boost. As i have seen before many people will just turn up the boost with no thought of the damage it can do.
I also don't think the inlets would not be worth it for the gain if any. Custom manifold is the way to go.
